What diseases can be transmitted from cat to dog?
There are many diseases of infectious etiology that can be transmitted from one species of animal to another. So diseases can be transmitted from cat to dog: skin diseases (lichen, cat scratches), parasitic diseases (ear mites, demodicosis, scabies, worms), infectious diseases of bacterial, viral or protozoal etiology (jaundice, toxoplasmosis, leptospirosis, rabies). An animal can be a carrier of the infection and not get sick with it, but it is able to transmit the pathogen to another pet, which may be not only a carrier, but also sick.
It is impossible to save one pet from illness if another pet has one, except to isolate healthy and sick animals from each other. This should be taken into account in circumstances when you already have one pet and decided to replenish the family with another representative of the animal world.
Pathogens can be found on the pet's fur, in its saliva, in the stool. For this reason, the habit of a cat and a dog eating from the same bowl can lead to mutual infection of both animals, close contact (licking each other) can also provoke the transmission of the disease.
You cannot carry a stray cat or dog home without a preliminary veterinary examination and treatment, if you already live with someone from living beings, otherwise you will put your pet at risk of illness.
