The most interesting thing about parenting is that it is very difficult to instill good manners in a pet. Especially when it comes to such pets that cannot be trained: cats, raccoons, rodents, birds and exotic pets.

Animals are full of curiosity, and out of boredom they begin to explore the residential area, while climbing into all secluded places, digging in flower pots, exploring trash cans, looking for adventure on the table, in the closet, under the bed, that is, anywhere.

Such behavior of the animal is quite justified, because in the wild, before settling down to live, the animal must protect itself, that is, examine the territory adjacent to the place of residence for the presence of a dangerous neighborhood.

Even a well-fed animal will react to food smells and be interested in the origin of such smells - look for a source (an edible thing).

The most radical way out of the situation when a pet climbs where it should not be is a closed aviary, which will be the place of its refuge during the absence of the owner. But the owners of animals, most often out of love for their pet, do not want to limit its freedom. What to do in such cases with a naughty animal?

The habit of approaching the table even out of curiosity in a pet develops automatically from an early age. The reasons for this behavior: the owner himself at the table or a lot of interesting objects on the table, suitable for games. Even if there is no smell of food, the very fact of the owner's presence at the table will attract the attention of the animal to him. Where the owner is, there is safe. It should also be borne in mind that a table, wardrobe, shelf, hanger is an elevation, and the animal likes to occupy a position that is convenient for viewing the entire territory.

If from birth the pet is not driven away from some places in the housing, then he will feel safe being in such places and will not think about changing his habits. In general, everything is like with people: they were allowed to approach the table in their presence - they will come up and climb on it even in the absence of the owner. They did not lock the waste bucket - he will look for interesting things for games and food there.

The animal must be prohibited from looking into inappropriate places, but at the same time create:

a play area with many items for pampering, which must be changed periodically so that the animal does not lose interest in games with permitted items,
secluded places to hide and rest,
high "observation points", where it could be quietly.

To prevent a cat or dog from climbing on the table, objects should not be left on the surface - emptiness is not interesting to the animal (but even the cord from the toaster will become entertainment), and it is also necessary to artificially create unpleasant sensations in them: a loud sound or a sharp unpleasant smell. As a sound signal, you can use various tweeters or objects falling with a ringing (unbreakable), stepping on or touching which the animal will recoil and remember the terrible place. A strong smell (such as vinegar, lemon, or lavender) can also be offensive. Animals do not like perfume fragrances, deodorant smells, plant smells with essential oils. All these possibilities must be used to create a memorable repulsive effect for the animal.

Exotic pets are not restricted in any way in movement, for this reason, their movement in the house during the absence of the owner is limited to a cage, aviary or a specially designated safe room.
