Shoulder - scapular periarthrosis - signs and clinical course of the course.
The phenomenon of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis refers to a type of chronic pain symptoms in osteochondrosis of the shoulder girdle.
The clinic of the shoulder-scapular periarthrosis proceeds in three directions, each of which has typical signs of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis:
The first direction of manifestation of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis makes itself felt with pain that develops in the shoulder, but gives (radiates) to the neck and / or to the arm. When the arm is lowered, the pain is felt moderately, but with any raising of the arm up or when trying to put the arm behind the back, the pain increases significantly. The pain symptom most often increases at night, it feels like a burning and aching pain, it can proceed with feelings of chilliness throughout the body. To a greater extent, pain manifests itself in the places of attachment of the tendons, in the ligamentous apparatus of the shoulder joint and scapula.
The second direction of the course of the disease of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis - is the development of contracture of the shoulder joint, which manifests itself in the gradual development of the inactivity of the shoulder joint. As a result, a person absolutely cannot raise his hand up (the effect of a "frozen" hand), against the background of contracture, atrophy of the muscular complex of the shoulder and scapula may develop.
The third direction of the course of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis - is a disruption in the work of the peripheral nervous system in the region of the shoulder and neck, and vascular disorders in the shoulder and limbs. The arm and shoulder begin to lose sensitivity. At the beginning of this process, there is a decrease in skin sensitivity, there is a feeling of "creeping creeps", chilliness in the hand, tingling in some parts of the arm and shoulder, neck.
The peculiarity of the phenomenon of humeral-scapular periarthrosis is that, in fact, pathological changes occur in the cervical spine, or rather in the cervical vertebrae and their joints, and the person feels the ongoing pathological processes as pain in the shoulder, scapula or arm, and not in the place of localization of the root cause of the disease - in the cervical spine. As a result, functional changes occur, inflammatory processes and dystrophic changes develop directly in the shoulder joint, which are called periarthrosis. But these are secondary changes, and the primary changes at this time occur precisely in the cervical vertebrae.
This point must be considered when choosing the right type of treatment. Symptomatic treatment should be directed not at the obvious signs of the shoulder - scapular periarthrosis, but at its root cause - on the cervical vertebrae, and after that, measures are taken to treat the shoulder joint. Otherwise, treatment of shoulder-scapular periarthrosis will have no effect, and the disease will continue to progress, which will ultimately lead to a complete loss of mobility of the shoulder joint and arm.
