Foods with Fluoride deficiency

Despite the fact that in translation the word “Fluorine” comes from the Greek word to spoil, destroy, destroy, and literally means “harm, spoilage, destruction,” its meaning for the health of the body is directly opposite to the semantic meaning of this word. Fluorine plays a major role in the body’s metabolic processes and has many important functions:

  • Stimulates hematopoietic processes;
  • Prevents the development of osteoporosis;
  • Strengthens bone tissue and tooth enamel;
  • Ensures quality and normal growth of hair and nails;
  • Promotes the removal of radionuclides and heavy metal salts;
  • Strengthens the immune system.

But the word “Fluorine” does not mean “destruction” for nothing. The harmful effects of fluoride begin with its overdose in the body, and manifest themselves in the form of destruction and deformation of bone tissue, joints and tooth tissue (in particular, tooth enamel). The presence of an excess of fluoride in the body is judged by the visible signs of the disease “Fluorosis” - gray and brown spots on the tooth enamel.

A lack of fluorine is no less dangerous than its excess . A lack of fluoride manifests itself in the form of diseases Osteoporosis , Periodontal disease , a sharp increase in the number of carious lesions of teeth, hair loss, deformation and growth of low-quality nail plates.

The normal daily dose of fluoride for an adult is in the range of 0.00005 - 0.00014 oz. But in food products, Fluorine is contained in small quantities, for example, calculated in micrograms (mcg) per 3.5 ounces of product. Fluorine is found in the largest amount:

  • from 1500 to 9000 mcg in one liter of black and green tea, depending on the type of tea;
  • 1400 mcg in Mackerel fish;
  • 1000 kg in fish Tuna;
  • 700 mcg in fish Hake, Pollock, Cod;
  • 685 mcg in walnut kernels;
  • 70-85 mcg in cereals (Oatmeal, Rice, Buckwheat) and in grain bread;
  • 85-90 mcg in Pumpkin pulp;
  • 50-60 mcg in Carrots;
  • about 30 mcg in onions;
  • 25-30 mcg in chicken liver.

In terms of food, in order to receive the daily dose of Fluoride and not exceed it, you need to eat a certain amount of food per day to choose from or combine them in cooking;

  • 1.8 ounces of brewing (dry product) black or green tea;
  • or 10.6 ounces of walnuts;
  • or 24.8 ounces of fish with a high fluoride content;
  • or 7.7 pounds of grain bread;
  • or prepare cereal porridge with milk and eat several servings a day.

Of course, monotonous foods with a high fluorine content are inconvenient to eat, so they try to include different foods containing fluoride in the diet. But the greatest amount of Fluoride required for a daily prim is found in fluoridated water - the most convenient food product. It is enough to drink fluoridated water and cook food with it, and there will be no shortage or excess of fluoride.

An interesting fact is that cooking food in aluminum dishes or foil, as well as using aluminum cookware for hot dishes, reduces the amount of Fluoride in food prepared in this way, since Aluminum removes Fluoride from food.
