As a rule, when scalding the skin, the area and depth of tissue damage is important. A small superficial burn with hot water will only cause redness and bearable pain. Such a burn will go away in a few days and does not require special efforts to treat it, since it does not form blisters. Light burns are treated by lubricating the injury site with Panthenol at the time of the burn.
A deeper and more prolonged burn when scalding with boiling water or steam is accompanied by the appearance of bubbles, peeling of the surface layers of the skin (necrosis), and healing is accompanied by scarring of tissues.
