Prostatitis - signs and treatment.
A lot has been said about the causes of the development of prostatitis - inflammation of the prostate gland, and, nevertheless, it is worth noting those factors that play a significant role in the development of this disease in men:
- Hypothermia (men do not like to dress warmly, but they like to sit on cold benches, parapets, the ground and many other objects without bedding);
- Poor hygiene and acquired infections of the penis (which can come from the ureter, bladder, or vagina of a woman);
- Chronic infections in the body (tonsillitis, bronchitis, abscesses and other sources of infection that periodically develop in the body);
- Violations of blood flow in the genitals (as a result of wearing tight clothes, a sedentary lifestyle, prolonged abstinence);
- Genital trauma;
- Excessive sexual activity.
Prostatitis can be acute (attacks) or chronic (almost imperceptible).
Signs of prostatitis:
- As a rule, it is primarily chronic prostatitis that develops, the symptoms of which may indicate disorders in the prostate gland - during the inflammatory process, the iron increases in size and creates the preconditions for narrowing the ureteral section, which in turn causes difficulties in urination (at the initial stages, minor, but which can lead to a complete absence of the urination process),
- Burning sensation in the urethra (in the ureter),
- Unpleasant sensations in the groin area, pain during urination and independent, irradiation of pain in the region of the sacrum and perineum,
- Violations of the act of defecation, pain during bowel movements.
Sexual dysfunction in prostatitis is associated with the structural features of the penis in some men, but in the vast majority it occurs due to psychological discomfort and the presence of pain.
In the acute period, prostatitis is determined by significant pain symptoms and urinary retention, that is, the urge to urinate is not properly resolved or urine flows out in a very thin stream, preventing the bladder from emptying completely.
The danger of chronic prostatitis is that inflammatory processes provoke the development of cysts, tissue proliferation, the development of tumors, which complicates the functions of both the prostate gland itself and the entire genitourinary system.
Treatment of prostatitis is etiotropic and symptomatic, based on antibiotic therapy according to the sensitivity of the seeded microflora. In parallel, immunostimulating therapy is carried out. Prostate massage is recommended to improve blood circulation and create prerequisites for the outflow of inflammatory exudate. In parallel, the patient is recommended to have an active lifestyle, to protect himself from hypothermia and external infections.
