Ureteral stones.
Ureteral stones - are the result of the movement of stones from the kidney towards the urinary tract. On the one hand, the independent migration of stones from the renal pelvis avoids crushing procedures or surgical intervention in the kidney tissue, but on the other hand, the stones that form in the kidneys may be larger than the cross section of the ureter, which turns out to be a factor in the disease.
Ureteral stones are a dangerous condition that can cause blockage of the canal itself and blockage of the barrel due to a total violation of urine flow.
Signs of a ureteral stone are similar to those of renal colic. Signs of the passage of a stone through the ureter may be accompanied by cuts and burning sensation in the ureter, pain symptom, increased blood pressure, bleeding during urination with excessive damage to the walls of the ureter. When a stone is stuck or difficult to pass in the ureter, nausea and vomiting may develop, pain radiates to the hypochondrium, to the lumbar region.
And, since urine is able to go through the channels in an ascending way, this process can cause various kinds of disorders from inflammation to infection. The ureter itself, due to constant trauma to its walls by stones, experiences chronic irritation, to which inflammation and infections join. Chronic trauma to the walls of the ureter can cause hypertrophic changes in the mucous layer, provoke mucosal hyperplasia, cell proliferation processes and their species change.
Treatment of stones in the ureter is carried out according to diagnostic studies of its location, size and the possibility of breaking with ultrasound.
In modern conditions, the least traumatic method of stone extraction is chosen. If urgent removal of the kidney block is necessary, surgery is performed using a laparoscope and the stone is removed from the ureter. In the case when the stone is in the ureter, but does not interfere with the outflow of urine, a crushing procedure is performed, which allows crushing the existing stone to a minimum size, followed by its removal from the urinary tract by taking diuretics.
