Irrigator - what is it?
To maintain high quality oral hygiene, one toothbrush is not enough. There is a mechanical device that, with the help of various types of attachments and high-pressure jets of water, is able to more effectively clean not only the teeth, but also the oral cavity as a whole, the tongue, fixed dentures and temporary orthodontic constructions without removal. The device is called "irrigator".
There are several of the most significant reasons why it makes sense to purchase an irrigator for oral and dental care:
- water pressure helps to knock out plaque and food debris from hard-to-reach places (from interdental spaces and undercuts, from under metal, plastic, ceramic and other structures of dentures and orthodontic mountings,
- thorough cleaning of teeth, tongue and gum massaging while the irrigator is operating,
- improvement of trophic processes in the oral mucosa, contributing to the prevention of gum disease, prevention of periodontitis and periodontal disease,
- the ability to change the plane and direction of cleaning the surfaces of teeth, structures and anatomical structures of the oral cavity with the help of various types of attachments.
Irrigators are portable and stationary - powered by a network. It makes sense to use a stationary irrigator at home, which is more durable. The portable irrigator is easy to travel.
When choosing an irrigator, one should be guided by the power of the device, which should be at least 550 kPa. What matters is the number of pulsations of the jet per minute. The most effective figure is 1200.
Paying attention to the health of the oral cavity and teeth, you can’t save on toothbrushes, but purchase in addition to them a modern design "irrigator".
