Small chin - how to fix it?
Regular facial features, or those facial contours that look organic, are shaped by the proportional dimensions of the frontal skull, midface and chin height.
It happens that, due to certain circumstances, it is the chin that is the cause of a disproportionate-looking face and causes dissatisfaction with its own appearance in its owner.
To fix the problematic small chin, it is necessary to determine what exactly caused the decrease in its parameters.
The most common cause of a reduced chin size is underdevelopment of the bones of the lower jaw. The jawline practically merges with the neck from the side of the profile; in front view, this anomaly may not be particularly noticeable. In this position, the nose begins to protrude visually forward, which further aggravates the appearance, giving the face a bird's expression.
Modern methods of plastic surgery make it possible to modify the size of the bones of the lower jaw and thus form the missing centimeters in the proportions of the chin.
There are several ways to change the design of a small chin:
- To change the ratio of the upper and lower jaw with the help of dentures, forcibly increasing the height of the bite and at the same time pushing the lower jaw forward .. Such a process is laborious and has a long period of rehabilitation for a patient who is interested in correcting the parameters of his face. The difficulties of addiction lie in changing the work of the temporomandibular joint, which will gradually change its path of movement during separation, which, as a rule, is accompanied by headaches and pain in the joint itself, discomfort when opening - closing the mouth, during chewing movements.
- Saw the bones of the lower jaw and artificially lengthen it using metal or bone implants.
- To build up tissue in the chin area by creating a roller that simulates a protruding chin (endoprosthetics). Various materials are used to model the chin: silicone, metal (titanium) implants, bone implants, cartilage implants, polyethylene implants.
- In plastic surgery, it is possible to model the chin by liposuction and platysmoplasty (liposculpture). In the course of this operation, fat deposits are removed in the chin area and the "platysma" - the superficial neck muscle is tightened, thus outlining the contours of the chin more clearly.
If necessary, it is possible to combine chin plastic surgery with rhinoplasty to shorten the length of the nose and compensate for the lack of chin size visually.
