Prevention of mastopathy - what you need to know. Part 4.
Modern medicine recommends that preventive measures related to the mammary glands be carried out from the age of 12-14. Every girl should know that from this age, her body needs to be treated carefully.
Preventive measures include several areas:
- breast self-examination,
- general health control,
- proper nutrition,
- psycho-emotional control,
- preventive physical education,
- correct selection of clothing items,
- rejection of excessive ultraviolet radiation.
Breast self-examinationshould be carried out on the same day of the menstrual cycle. It is most convenient to do this after the end of menstruation (at this time, the mammary gland is relaxed). But with the onset of menopause, such activities are carried out on the same day of each month. Breast examination should be done in stages. Initially, this is done in a standing position and in good lighting. You need to take a closer look at the size of both breasts, at the symmetry of their location, then raise your hands up and observe whether they move evenly, whether one of the breasts has shifted to the side, whether the nipple is pulled in. It is better to palpate the mammary glands in the "lying" position, since in this position the mammary gland becomes softer and the likelihood of palpating small seals and or nodules increases. Palpate with pads rather than fingertips. and in a circular motion. Simultaneously with the breast, it is necessary to feel the axillary region where the lymph nodes are located and check if they are enlarged. With all suspicious observations, you need to immediately contact a mammologist, since in such a matter as a breast, a false alarm is better than wasted precious time. Remember: the causes of mastopathy and breast cancer are identical.
Monitoring the general state of health is necessary, since the cause of mastopathy can be an imbalance in other body systems. In this case, particular attention should be paid to disorders of the functions of the female genital organs, diseases of the endocrine system, digestive system and cardiovascular system. For the timely detection of diseases of your body, it is necessary to carry out systematic preventive examinations approximately once a year. Sometimes some minor ailments, which you do not pay attention to in everyday life, may turn out to be symptoms of a developing serious illness, and as a result, cause mastopathy. Be wary of your body.
Proper nutrition is generally a guarantee of health, but since we consider it as part of the prevention of mastopathy , then nutritional correction should be carried out in relation to the causes of mastopathy.
As mentioned in the previous article about the causes of mastopathy, hormonal imbalance has a huge impact on its development, so it is worth paying attention to food products, which include substances that affect hormonal processes, namely: seafood rich in iodine compounds (it is especially worth noting the merits of the Laminaria seaweed or, as it is called - "seaweed"). You can also find iodine compounds in a green salad, some varieties of which are rich in high iodine content (Lolla Rossa, Cherry Haze, etc.). Sea salt is rich in iodine, so salt your food with it. Further, as we already know, body fat is an additional depot for the production of estrogens, and our task is to reduce their level, therefore, food rich in fats and carbohydrates should be excluded from the diet (that is, exclude fatty meats, lard, smoked meats; reduce the consumption of butter, margarine, fatty sour cream, fat cottage cheese, milk with a high percentage of fat, mayonnaise, fried foods and dishes that include oils (for example: chips, some types of bread); give up fancy dough, sweets, canned foods.)
The regulated work of the digestive system is an indicator of health and a guarantee of healthy mammary glands. Since the metabolism of estrogens occurs in the liver, and their utilization in the gastrointestinal tract, this system must work flawlessly. And for this, vegetables, fruits, herbs, bran must be present in food (that is, everything that is rich in fiber, it provokes peristalsis, and therefore the timely evacuation of inactive substances from the body.)
If you do not find the strength to refrain from your spontaneous food addictions every day, then you can make yourself an approximate dietary menu and stick to it throughout your life. Eating well is a lifestyle, not a passing fad.
Psycho-emotional control is essential, but not easy. Let us remind once again that stress is the source of all diseases. Few people can boast of their stress resistance. Therefore, in order to achieve any results in this matter, you need to learn how to manage your emotions every minute. Of course, one cannot do without willpower, just as one cannot do without the ability to quickly switch from one moment of life to another. Try to distance yourself from some painful situations for the nervous system. It is better to postpone for a while clarifying the relationship, solving problems that require emotional costs. When you are in a state of nervous stress, tell yourself: "I will think about it later, but now I will concentrate on pressing matters." And get down to the current work, focus on it. If you feel that by an effort of will you cannot cope with nervous excitement, take sedatives to extinguish the nervous outburst. Autogenic training helps a lot in such cases. And remember: you need to learn how to control your own nervous system.
Physical education in itself is a good thing, but in the prevention of illness it is simply irreplaceable. First, you need to regularly do exercises for the pectoral muscles. Secondly, jogging, dancing, exercising on simulators, aerobics will help reduce already accumulated or future accumulations of adipose tissue. By the way, you can dance at home to good music, at the same time it will relieve stress and improve the overall emotional mood. In short, any physical activity aimed at losing weight is welcome.
When choosing the right (i.e. healthy) garments, we are interested in bras, corsets, gracefuls and bodices. The bra must be exactly the right size, as excessive pressure can cause blood flow to the breast to be disturbed or deformed. It should be made from natural fabrics and be pitted. If the breasts are small, the bra should be discarded. Corsets, graces, bodices and others that tighten the chest, items of clothing should be excluded. In general, all factors that injure the chest must be avoided.
Excessive ultraviolet radiation should also be avoided as it can lead to precancerous conditions and breast cancer. Do not forget that the ways of occurrence of mastopathy and breast cancer are the same.
