Seborrhea of the skin.

Seborrhea of the skin is a skin disease associated with the pathological work of the sebaceous glands. As a result of neuroendocrine disorders, the work of the secretion of the sebaceous glands undergoes a change, which leads to the development of seborrhea in several of its manifestations: seborrhea with increased sebum secretion (oily seborrhea), seborrhea with reduced sebum secretion (dry seborrhea) and mixed type of seborrhea, when symptoms of both pathologies are present.

Signs of oily seborrhea:

  • Increased oily skin,
  • The presence of shine of the skin,
  • Rash in the form of papules and pustules,
  • Greasy hair,
  • Hair loss on the head (mostly men suffer).

Signs of dry seborrhea:

  • Increased flaking of the skin,
  • The presence of scales on the skin,

  • Dandruff on the scalp,
  • Changes in hair structure (thinning, increased dryness and fragility).

The causes of cutaneous seborrhea lie in the field of endocrine disorders and a low level of immune reactions, vegetative-vascular disorders, which occur against the background of emotional overstrain, physical and mental overload, and malnutrition.

Seborrhea of the skin can act as a hereditary disease, as a result of hormonal therapy, can be associated with periods of puberty, menopause, when the hormonal balance between estrogens and androgens is disturbed. The links between the development of seborrhea of the skin and neuroses have been noticed.

As part of cosmetic procedures, the skin is cleaned with scrubs, cleansing masks with a drying effect are made, nourishing and moisturizing gels, predominantly moisturizing creams with a low content of fatty components are used.

Treatment of dry seborrhea requires the use of cosmetics with a moisturizing and nourishing effect. Drying agents that cause dry skin and a tendency to exfoliate should be avoided. Dry seborrheic skin is cleaned with gentle, gentle means so as not to injure painful skin once again.

With seborrhea of the skin, frequent exposure to the fresh air, sufficient sleep, contrasting washes and showers, shampoos containing zinc, ketoconazole are useful as a prophylaxis and to relieve the manifestations of seborrhea.
