Nephropathy - what is it?
Pathological disorders of the kidneys in medicine are called the generalizing concept of "nephropathy".
Nephropathies can develop as complications of other diseases of systems and organs, be the result of a failure in the endocrine, cardiovascular systems, can be caused by toxic substances that have entered the body, be the result of infections or radiation damage.
For nephropathy, nonspecific symptoms are characteristic, often invisible at the initial stages of the development of renal lesions.
Signs of nephropathy can be:
- Dry mouth,
- Pulling back pain,
- Frequent urination,
- Minor swelling (morning, not evening),
- Hypertension begins to develop, which is difficult to correct.
Over time, the symptoms increase, and the clinical symptoms are more indicative of kidney problems:
- the smell of urea, released along with sweating,
- swelling becomes significant,
- hypertension becomes stable,
- renal failure begins to develop.
The sooner a person notices the symptoms of nephropathy, the more successful the treatment will be, since the impairment of renal activity is difficult to correct.
As a rule, the treatment of nephropathy is associated with the treatment of the disease or with the elimination of the factor that caused the nephropathy.
Symptomatic therapy consists in eliminating edema, correcting blood pressure, regulating urine output, in diet therapy with a decrease in protein food and regulating the drinking regime to reduce the burden on the kidneys.
