Exercises to restore the work of the abdominal organs.
All exercises to restore the digestive tract, liver and prevent bile stagnation can be carried out at home, near the workplace and in other rooms convenient for exercise, since these exercises do not require any special equipment.
The abdominal organs are under the influence of intra-abdominal pressure. The pressure inside the abdomen is generated by the abdominal muscles, the muscles of the pelvic girdle, and the diaphragm. A number of simple exercises are required to engage these muscle groups and stimulate the abdominal organs.
The first group of exercises can be performed in the postoperative period or in cases where it is impossible to stand and walk on your own, for example, with bed rest:
- Exercise 1. Performed while sitting or lying down. The exercise simulates the movement of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles as in a cough. A shallow breath is taken and the air is released in several sessions, as if in a cough (for example, 3-4 cough movements). The exercise is done within half an hour. The exercise is repeated daily.
- Exercise 2. Performed with bed rest. The starting position of the body is lying on your back, bend your legs at the knees, spread them shoulder-width apart and rest your feet on the surface of the bed (sofa, etc.). Alternately, each leg, bent at the knee, independently (or with the help from the side), bring it closer to the stomach, trying to press the thigh part of the leg to the stomach as tightly as possible. Change the leg to the opposite and repeat the movement. Repeat the exercise on each leg from two to ten times, if possible, every third day, increase the number of pressing the thigh of each leg by one time.
- Exercise 3. Performed in the supine position. The back is straight, bend your legs at the knees and spread them shoulder-width apart. Raise the pelvic region as much as possible, leaning on the feet, forearms and elbows, fix the lifting position for 5-10 seconds, take the starting position. Perform the exercise 2-10 times in one approach, every third day increase the number of exercises in the approach by one time.
- Exercise 4. In the prone position, spread the legs shoulder-width apart, bend at the knees. Lie for half an hour in this position, breathing with the diaphragm and abdomen (the chest does not move when inhaling and exhaling): when inhaling, inflate the belly, when exhaling, “pull up” the belly, pulling in. Exercise daily.
A more complex group of exercises to stimulate the work of the abdominal organs (gastrointestinal tract - stimulating peristalsis, liver - stimulating the outflow of bile):
- Exercise 1. In a standing position, make turns of the body in different directions. Set your legs shoulder-width apart, keep your back straight. Without moving your legs, make a turn of the body to the left, holding this turn for 10 seconds, look to the left. Return to starting position. Turn the body to the right, hold in this position for 10 seconds, look to the right and return to the starting position. Repeat the exercise 10-15 times in one approach. Every third day, increase the number of approaches by one while maintaining the number of turns in one approach. The exercise is done in a course of two to three weeks, then a week break and again a course of exercise according to the same scheme.
- Exercise 2. Torso bends. Become to the starting position - feet shoulder-width apart, hands on hips, bend forward, forming a right angle between the torso and the lower body, fix the tilt for 10 seconds without moving your legs, turn in a bent position to the left, fix the position for 10 seconds, return to forward tilt and then turn the body to the right in tilt, fix the position for 10 seconds, return to the forward tilt position. Unbend and take the starting position. Repeat the exercise 10 times in one approach. Every third day, increase the number of approaches by one without changing the number of inclines in one approach. The exercise should be repeated in a course of two to three weeks, then - a week of rest, and again at first from 10 times in one approach, counting the number of approaches - this is the next course of exercise.
- Exercise 3. Raising the thighs of the legs to the stomach. In a standing position - legs together (you can lean against a wall or a door with your back to maintain balance), bend your left leg at the knee and bring its thigh to your stomach as tightly as possible, lower your leg. Bend the right leg at the knee, raise and bring the thigh of the right leg to the stomach as tightly as possible, lower the leg to its original position. Change legs alternately and perform 10-14 alternating leg lifts in one set. Increase the number of approaches by one every third day, without changing the number of exercises in one approach. Perform the exercise as a course for two to three weeks, then a week of rest, and update the course, starting again with one approach.
- Exercise 4. Stimulating the outflow of bile (prevention of stagnation of bile in the bile ducts). Lie on your left side, straighten your torso, legs straight out. Lie on the left side for half an hour, inhaling and exhaling, using the diaphragm (forcibly moving the diaphragm, the chest does not rise during this exercise - it is not allowed when inhaling and exhaling - the diaphragm and abdomen work), for which, when inhaling, inflate the belly, when exhaling, draw in. Repeat the exercise for one to two or three weeks every day, then - a week of rest, and again proceed to the course of the exercise.
The course of exercises is performed methodically until the functions of the listed organs of the abdominal region are restored and normalized. And then you can return to this course of exercises to prevent stagnation in the liver and gastrointestinal tract.
