How to follow a diet for acute gastritis?

Gross violation of the eating regime -

  • dry food,
  • the predominance of spicy foods and vinegar preserves in the diet,
  • excessive passion for alcoholic beverages without biting and diluting,
  • predominantly coarse food in the diet due to improperly chosen dietary food,
  • imbalance in nutrition with the predominant use of only coarse fiber plant foods,
  • starvation systems against the background of enzymatic redundancy,
  • eating long-digesting foods at night,
  • regular overeating,
  • as well as chronic nervous stress –

lead to the development of the disease Gastritis, which can proceed at a slow pace and become a chronic disease, but most often makes itself felt by acute attacks that do not allow a person to eat normally.

An acute attack of gastritis is difficult: with pain in the epigastric region, with nausea and vomiting at the time of eating or its subsequent digestion, and as a result of loss of appetite in general, which further worsens the person's condition.

Often acute attacks of gastritis lead to general ill health with disruption of the stomach and intestines, with impaired utilization and elimination of harmful or indigestible substances from the body, with constipation and diarrhea, with weakness and loss of vitality. Against the background of a violation of general well-being and a lack of food, dizziness and headache may develop. A person finds himself in the position of a patient with bed rest and nutritional therapy.

How to form a dietary table for acute gastritis, so that you can establish food intake and support the body until the paroxysmal pain disappears and general well-being is established?

How to follow a diet for acute gastritis? A diet for acute gastritis has the goal of bringing the digestion process back to normal and preventing acute gastritis from turning into chronic gastritis, when the rest of your life will be devoted to selective nutrition and the inability to eat your favorite foods.

An acute attack of gastritis is one of the cases when it is appropriate to use the fasting system, but regulate food intake, alternating it every day with fasting against the background of literally liquid food intake.

That is, fasting will only refer to the exclusion of familiar foods from the diet for 1-2 days, but with the maintenance of water and electrolyte balance (salts, vitamins, glucose and similar compounds that can enter the body with aqueous solutions).

In a hospital setting, this effect is achieved by using droppers with a set of electrolytes instead of eating, but at home it is necessary to think over for such a hungry one or two days a set of drinks that can fully replace solid food.

On the principle of replacing solid food with liquid and digestible during an attack of illness, 1-2 days of hunger are compensated by taking drinks:

  • warm (not hot and not cold) slightly sweet or unsweetened tea, infusions (warm) from medicinal plants (broth of wild rose, broth from sea buckthorn berries, infusion of flowers of St. John's wort, chamomile, calendula),
  • compote from dried fruits or raw, frozen fruits, but with a low concentration of fruit acids (pears, apricots, persimmons, peaches, quince, black currants, mountain ash, prunus padus, paradise apples, rowan, blackthorn, physalis are suitable for such compotes),
  • juices from slightly acidic fruits (diluted with hot water to warm temperature in the ratio: 1 part of concentrated juice to 3 parts of water).

It should be borne in mind that broths are also substitutes for solid food, but during periods of acute gastritis attacks, it is necessary to extinguish the release of enzymes into the lumen of the stomach and intestines at least during the days intended for fasting, and for this reason broths that stimulate fermentation - broths, should not be used, cooked on meat, fish, seafood, mushrooms, as well as artificial soups, broths and their concentrates, since the protein ingredients released into the water during cooking will stimulate the release of enzymes for their breakdown. You can use drinking broths cooked from vegetables (except for legumes, which also stimulate the digestive glands of internal secretion) - from fresh, dried and frozen vegetables.

The days of fasting during the diet during an acute attack of gastritis are replaced by the days of eating mucous broths from cereals (rice mucous broths, pearl barley mucous broths, oat mucous broths), seeds (flax), starchy plants (potatoes, sweet potatoes, and the like), jelly cooked in corn, potato starch or other types of food starch (sago, tapioca, rice, oats).

Such slimy decoctions are eaten 4-5 times a day, two hundred grams per meal. The number of days of maintaining such a diet ranges from 3 to 10.

Further, the diet is continued with a set of diet drinks and decoctions, supplemented with boiled cereals in water or in vegetable broth (potato, cabbage, beetroot, carrot, from green vegetables - cauliflower and broccoli, asparagus, artichoke). A quarter of a teaspoon of fresh butter or ghee is added to cereals.

Boiled cereals can be alternated with vegetable purees or soups - purees without meat, fish ingredients and seafood, without the participation of mushrooms and legumes. During the period of maintaining a therapeutic diet for acute gastritis, avoid the use of any kind of vegetables with a pungent aftertaste (radish, daikon, radish, watercress, parsley, dill, basil, rosemary, fennel, celery and similar herbs), but you can use cabbage, fennel, celery, turnip, kohlrabi, cabbage, cichorium intybus as boiled vegetables.

Dairy and fermented milk products are used in the diet for acute gastritis only at the end of treatment, since milk fats also require enzymatic breakdown.

It is permissible for dietary nutrition during the period of acute gastritis to eat yolk omelets, or scrambled eggs - but not at the very beginning of the diet, but in the middle of the entire diet or at the end of the entire diet regimen.

Gradually they get out of a strict diet for acute gastritis, switching to meat, fish broths and soups based on them, to seafood soups, mushroom soups and soups and boiled cereals from leguminous plants.

During the period of the diet with an acute attack of gastritis, avoid the use of sweet syrups, preserves, jams, confitures, sweet fillers, sweet creams, chocolate, marshmallows, ice cream, cocktails of any composition, so as not to provoke increased work of the pancreas, which is a direct participant in digestion.

Fresh bread and flour dishes are considered heavy foods for the stomach and intestines, therefore, in case of acute gastritis, they are avoided, but they are replaced with white or black bread crumbs or biscuits.

The time spent on dietary food for acute gastritis varies depending on the condition of the person and lasts at least two to four weeks in total.

Strict adherence to the diet during the moments of acute gastritis attacks allows you to establish normal and nutritious nutrition and get out of the painful state quite effectively.
