How to cure gastritis?

Before proceeding with the treatment of gastritis, it must be diagnosed, since the symptoms of gastritis may resemble other diseases (for example: stomach ulcers, poisoning, gastroenteritis, common dyspepsia, salmonellosis, and others). Diagnostics includes procedures for endoscopic examination of the state of the gastric mucosa, determination of the acidity of gastric juice, biopsy of the gastric mucosa, biochemical analysis for the presence of pathogenic microorganisms.

Endoscopic examination makes it possible to identify erosive damage, the extent of the inflammatory process, the presence or absence of ulcers on the walls of the stomach. In addition, an endoscopic examination allows you to determine which parts of the stomach are involved in the inflammatory process or are damaged.

A biopsy allows you to examine microscopic changes in the state of the gastric mucosa , to determine the degree of atrophy of the glands, the appearance of replacing areas of connective tissue.

Determining the degree of acidity of gastric juice is necessary to select a treatment strategy that will differ in cases with high acidity and low acidity. It also happens that acidity may be normal and not directly related to the development of gastritis. In such situations, the search for the source of irritation of the gastric mucosa continues to be clarified, methodically screening out unsuitable factors.

Bioanalysis for pathogens reveals the presence of an infectious agent that provokes an inflammatory process in the stomach, which, with positive results, requires appropriate antimicrobial therapy.

The treatment of gastritis is selected according to the pathogenic factors identified in the diagnosis, and consists of several directions of therapeutic action:

Elimination of infection (if any) with antibacterial drugs. When sowing Helicobacter pylori, complex antimicrobial therapy is required: an antibiotic (clarithromycin) and a decrease in the acidity of gastric juice, which is a favorable environment for the existence of this bacterium.
Regulation of the acidity level of the stomach environment (if necessary) with drugs that inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in the production of hydrochloric acid (proton pump inhibitors, histamine H2 receptor blockers), the use of drugs that protect the gastric mucosa from irritation with hydrochloric acid: antacids (maalox, gastal, almagel ), gastroprotectors (sucralfate), bismuth preparations (de-Nol);
Anti-inflammatory and healing drug therapy with keratoplastic drugs (carotolin, aekol, sea buckthorn oil, olive oil);
Vitamin therapy (vitamin E and vitamin A );
A therapeutic diet for gastritis and changes in the patient's lifestyle to prevent further relapses of the disease. The therapeutic diet is based on the use of steamed food or stew without frying. It is advisable to eat ground lean meat, mashed soups, starchy dishes (including jelly, well-boiled slimy porridge, mashed potatoes). Are categorically excluded: spices, spicy and sour foods, salty foods, fresh green vegetables (without heat treatment), herbs and plants containing aromatic oils (garlic, onion, wild garlic, basil, tarragon and other similar plants), plants containing bitterness (chicory, arugula, watercress, radish, radish and others).
Meals should be fractional - frequent and small portions.
Changing your lifestyle involves giving up bad habits: smoking, drinking alcohol; development of stress resistance (timely removal of nervous tension , avoidance of emotional overload, development of equanimity in conflict situations).
