First aid for a gastritis attack.
Gastritis is a multifactorial disease that becomes chronic over time. Acute forms of gastritis occur during a violation of the diet (overeating or malnutrition, roughage), and can also be associated with periods of increased stress, with seasonal changes in ambient temperature, with too long working hours without rest and timely meals.
Gastritis in the acute phase of its course acquires a paroxysmal character. It is possible to prevent gastritis attacks and reduce its painful symptoms, as well as to transfer the disease to the stage of prolonged remission, if you follow several rules:
- Don't rush to change into light clothes when the cold season changes to warm - the internal organs do not like hypothermia and gradually adapt to the external coolness.
- Don't irritate the gastric mucosa with alcohol-containing or highly acidic drinks, such as acidic fruit juices, drinks with the addition of citric or ascorbic acid (carbonated drinks, soda water).
- Don't eat too hot food (straight from the fire): meat, soups, coffee, tea, milk.
- Don't take on an empty stomach those medicines that, according to the instructions, must be taken with meals or after meals. Even a simple Aspirin or Ascorbic acid can increase the acidity of the stomach at times. Always take your medicines with a suitable drink.
- Don't drink Coffee on an empty stomach, it contains organic acids in a fairly high concentration.
- Watch your hormonal levels. Gastritis loves hormonal fluctuations.
- Don't treat heartburn with baking soda solution and do not drink mineral water during heartburn.
- Avoid foods that cause flatulence .
- Reduce the fat content of your usual foods - switch to foods with a low percentage of fat content.
- Don't forget that gastritis is a disease that is directly related to an overexertion of the nervous system, avoid stressful situations as much as possible and put all nervous stresses into "pause" mode.
- Refuse for a while from a strict diet, from a sports diet, from fasting days .
- Reduce sports loads for the period of exacerbation of Gastritis, but don't give up sports - leave yourself only light physical training so as not to lose shape.
- Don't drink soft drinks or highly carbonated drinks during an exacerbation of gastritis.
- Transfer food to five - seven times a day, but in small portions, so as not to overload the stomach.
- During the acute period of gastritis, give up raw berries, fruits and vegetables.
First aid at the time of a gastritis attacks will help relieve pain and slow down the development of Gastritis in the worst case scenario.
You can use rice or oatmeal broth (kissel), milk kissel, fruit kissel from non-acidic fruits (apricots, peaches, melons, mangoes, pears), kissel from non-acidic berries (blueberries), kissel from vegetables (carrots , pumpkin), dried fruit compotes (prunes, dried apricots) in the midst of an attack of gastritis at home.
A warm infusion of Chamomile, Calendula or St. John's wort flowers will help relieve the inflammatory process in the gastric mucosa.
Oil solutions of vitamin A and E will accelerate the process of regeneration of stomach tissues. Vegetable oil in the composition of food will help protect the gastric mucosa from injury during an attack of gastritis.
Warm non-fat milk, by enveloping the walls of the stomach, will protect it from chemical irritants, for example, necessary for daily intake of medications, or from excessive releases of digestive enzymes into the lumen of the stomach.
General rest for the nervous system and the absence of physical muscle tension, warm clothes and, if possible, bed rest, will help relax the walls of the stomach at the time of the development of an attack of Gastritis and reduce pain to zero.
