Dietary tables of medical and preventive institutions. Part 3

BEGINNING >>> Diet nutrition of medical and preventive institutions. Part 2

Medical and preventive nutrition is an integral part of the treatment of the disease. For this reason, the role of dietary tables is equated to the regular intake of medicines, which means that non-compliance (violation) of the diet regimen when using dietary tables is regarded as a violation of the entire algorithm for the treatment or prevention of the disease. There is no point in taking medications if the diet is not adjusted according to the medical history. Nutrition is the basis of any treatment and prevention of disease, it is with a change in the principles of nutrition that treatment and prevention begins.

Diet tables make it possible to differentiate products and methods of their preparation regarding the symptoms of the disease, the nature of the course of the disease, supplement, and sometimes even replace, some of the drugs, taking into account the severity of the disease and the ability to influence the physiological causes of its occurrence through just properly consumed food.

Dairy dishes and sour-dairy products form the basis of the nutrition of this table - they normalize the work of the gastrointestinal tract, which is directly tied to nervous disorders and various diseases of the nervous system.

Dietary table № 13

The diet of this table is calculated for infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, urinary system. Since infections often affect the mucous membrane lining the internal organs of these systems, and cause inflammation, as well as intoxication, nutrition implies gentle meals for the gastrointestinal tract and easy ways to remove toxins from the body. They consume sweet dishes without dairy filling (milk creams, butter creams), confectionery sweets (dark chocolate, sweets with dried fruits, nuts, with bitter chocolate, marshmallow, Turkish delight, marshmallows, marmalade, jelly, preserves and jams).

The composition of the products is limited to only 3.5 ounces of protein food and 3.5 ounces of fatty foods, there are almost no restrictions in carbohydrates – 14-16 ounces, the total calorie content is 3000 - 3200 calories. This is a common table, which is transferred to the end of treatment or prevention of the disease.

A diet limited to tables is usually required in medical or preventive institutions; at home, dietary restrictions similar to those in medical institutions are rarely adhered to. But at home, with properly prepared food, taking into account dietary tables, medical nutrition can be organized, if necessary. At home, it is easier to follow the dietary table, since it is possible to more accurately take into account the individual characteristics of the disease, which requires a strict diet.
