What is the connection between legs and health?
One of the proven health recipes is to steam your feet. Why does this effect work and what is the connection between legs and general health?
In the anatomical structure of the legs, there is one feature that makes the legs a place for the prevention of many diseases of a general nature - these are powerful blood vessels through which a large volume of blood is pumped when walking. Any movement of the legs gives an impetus to the work of the entire circulatory system and, accordingly, the blood supply to the heart muscle and brain. In addition to the main vessels with a large cross-section, arteries and veins, which, due to the width of the cross-section, allow pumping a large volume of blood at a time, the legs have a wide network of small vessels that supply blood to the leg muscles, allowing the latter to withstand heavy physical exertion. And it is not for nothing that there is a saying: "As long as the legs are worn" - it very accurately reflects the essence of the survival of the organism as a whole.
It is because of these features of anatomy and physiology in the lower extremities that any health prevention begins with relieving leg fatigue and the establishment of metabolism in the tissues of the lower extremities. For the purpose of preventing the general healing of the body, procedures are performed for the legs, which accelerate the blood supply to the limbs and relieve muscle tension in the legs. Foot baths are not just a way to quickly relieve leg fatigue - it is an opportunity to relieve fatigue in its general understanding. Fatigue is a complex concept. It consists of fatigue of body tissues (in particular muscles) and fatigue of the nervous system. All problems of fatigue can be solved by creating a state of relaxation of the muscles of the body and relaxation of the nervous system by warming the body as a whole. And the fastest way to warm up the whole body is to heat the lower extremities so that the heat "spreads" throughout the body, which will be done by the powerful circulatory system of the lower extremities.
Several warming baths will help you quickly recuperate and get rid of the many impending health problems that are always associated with fatigue. The correct foot baths are herbal baths or mustard powder baths. Coniferous plants (pine, juniper) baths are very convenient. The needles, buds or young cones of coniferous plants contain essential oils that have a beneficial effect not only on the skin of the legs, but also evaporate and affect the nervous system through the sense of smell. Baths with Eucalyptus or Calendula have the same effect. The temperature of the foot bath is important, it must be tolerably hot for the effect to be lightning fast. A half-hour foot bath - and health reserves are renewed.
In addition to water warming procedures, there are warming procedures of a different nature - these are rubbing with burning natural substances (for example, garlic juice, pepper plaster, mustard powder or mustard plasters), as well as warming alcohol compresses for the feet. Burning substances are applied to the heel area. To prevent the powder from crumbling, it can be moistened with water to the consistency of a gruel, smeared on the heels and covered with polyethylene or soft waxed paper. Keep the compress on the legs until the obvious burning sensation and heat stop, but not to an unbearable burning sensation - the compresses should be as warming as possible, and not scalding.
Another way to carry out warming procedures for the legs is to intensively rub the skin and muscles of the legs in the area of the lower leg and foot. First, there are many reflexogenic zones in these areas that are responsive to touch and pressure, which has a positive effect on the nerve endings of the lower extremities and on the entire nervous system as a whole. Secondly, the rubbing process itself creates an intense movement of blood flow, starting from the capillaries of the skin and up to the great vessels of the lower extremities, which will carry blood to the rest of the body. Thirdly, intensive rubbing helps to release the energy of powerful muscles of the lower leg, which also acts as a warming effect on the limbs and stimulates general heating processes (turns on the heat exchange mechanism).
Warming procedures last no more than an hour (or half an hour), but the effect of warming must be maintained longer. For these purposes, socks and leggings made of natural fibers are used, this fabric allows the feet to warm and breathe. Avoid wearing socks and leggings with tight elastic bands that obstruct the blood flow to the lower extremities.
All recipes for restoring the tone of the lower extremities are potentially restorative recipes and general health of the body. For this reason, you should not overload your legs and you should not avoid daily restorative procedures for your legs.
