Feeling unwell in a cat - how to determine?
An important task of a cat owner is to look after their pet. If the owner of the animal does not notice the signs of poor health in the cat, then she herself will not complain, and she will suffer quietly. You need to know that any disease, like in humans, in a cat causes a deterioration in the general condition, therefore, the first signs of the disease are considered to be a change in the nature of the animal's behavior:
- She used to love to sit on her hands - she began to break free and run away;
- She lay (slept) in open areas of the dwelling (in a conspicuous place) - she began to huddle in dark, hard-to-reach places away from human eyes;
- She was mobile, played, communicated with the owner - she began to lie or sleep more;
- I began to eat less than the usual portion;
- Has ceased to go out to feed;
- I began to look for cool places in the house, lie down on the cold tiles;
- Rumbling, purring for no reason is also a sign of poor health;
- If a cat is not feeling well, it can cling to its owner.
Serious signs of a cat's disease are:
- Vomiting,
- Diarrhea,
- An increase in body temperature (normally a cat has a cold wet nose) above 40 degrees,
- Weight loss,
- Trembling (for no reason),
- Flaccid body,
- The condition of the coat changes (it becomes wrinkled, dull, does not bristle),
- Rapid breathing,
- Moans,
- Squeezing the legs (paws) or unusual postures,
- Does not keep on paws, tries to lie down.
Regularly it is necessary to examine the body of the cat, whether there are any signs of the disease on it: rash, pimples, edema, redness, swelling, wounds, whether the hair falls out (in bundles or separate hairs).
If you feel unwell, the animal may refuse dry food, so it is better to cook soups: fish, chicken or vegetable in meat or fish broth. Soups should be thick, for which you can put heavily boiled rice or millet.
All unusual health conditions of the animal should be a signal to the owner to go to the veterinarian. You should not try to treat the symptoms without knowing the exact diagnosis - the animal can be accidentally killed.
