How to smooth out nasolabial folds?
Pronounced nasolabial folds are the scourge of women and men of all ages, since the depth of their occurrence gives the face an additional age. What does the depth of the nasolabial folds depend on?
Since the nasolabial folds are formed by the facial muscles, the skeleton of the facial part of the face and fatty subcutaneous tissue, their appearance depends on the type of face, its fullness, the structure of the maxillofacial skeleton and the work of facial muscles (it is at the moment of a smile that the depth of the nasolabial folds changes - the depth of the nasolabial folds increases).
In people with a "fixed" face, nasolabial folds are less pronounced than in people with active facial expressions (smiling).
The structure of the facial part of the skeleton of the head plays an important role in the formation of the nasolabial folds. In particular, the location of the lower jaw in relation to the upper is of direct importance for the depth of the nasolabial folds. So, with pronounced progeny (when the lower jaw protrudes forward in relation to the upper jaw), the nasolabial folds form a deeper groove than in cases of orthognathia and prognathia (the upper jaw protrudes forward in relation to the lower jaw). The same effect occurs when the deformed dentition of the lower jaw (with its normal development), for example, with a fan-shaped divergence of the teeth, begins to protrude beyond the dentition of the upper jaw (false progeny).
A decrease in the height of the bite with complete or partial loss of teeth, as well as as a result of fan-shaped divergence of the dentition, for example, with periodontal disease, also entails deepening of the nasolabial folds. In this case, the problem is solved by prosthetics of the dentition with an increase in the bite.
Too developed subcutaneous fat in the cheek area also creates the prerequisites for the formation of the depth of the nasolabial folds (in fact, round and lush cheeks emphasize the nasolabial folds). A sharp weight loss and the accompanying decrease in the subcutaneous fat layer also contributes to the deep bedding of the nasolabial folds, since the skin of the cheeks, in the absence of a supporting fat layer, goes down.
In connection with the above, changing the depth of the nasolabial folds is not an easy thing. Since such skeletal moments as the size of the jaws require complex surgical interventions (shortening the size of the lower jaw with its significant protrusion). Not everyone decides to undergo cosmetic surgery to change the structural bones of the face! As for the problem of deep bedding of the nasolabial folds in connection with weight loss or age-related changes in the elasticity of the skin, weakening of the facial muscles, here cosmetology can come to the rescue. There is a technique for injecting fillers subcutaneously into the area of the nasolabial folds (gel-like substances that fill the subcutaneous voids and lift the skin in the area of the nasolabial folds by creating swelling).
Filler correction has both advantages and disadvantages:
- Not suitable for all types of face (a round and lush face can turn into a puffy one),
- Bruising and suppuration are possible,
- Contraindicated in bacterial, viral or fungal diseases of the skin of the face,
- Contraindicated in case of allergy to hyaluronic acid or other filler components,
- Contraindicated in diseases of the blood, blood vessels.
