Fillers - what are they?
Fillers are artificial subcutaneous fillers that are used in cosmetology to restore lost tissue volumes. Fillers in cosmetic medicine have gained success due to their variety, methods of administration and application site (face, chin, chest). Correction with fillers allows you to restore or improve the volume, straighten wrinkles, and change the contours.
In addition to the location of the fillers, they differ in composition and direction of action. The types of fillers depend on what goals are pursued by their introduction: a temporary or long-term result, prevention or restoration of a defect.
Fillers are:
- absorbable (biocompatible): hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastomers;
- non-absorbable (do not react with organic tissues): synthetic gel polymers;
- the body's own tissues (adipose tissue).
Fillers can fill the subcutaneous space in the chin, cheekbones, nose, lips. The results of filler injection become visible after tissue edema subsides (in a short period).
Disadvantages and complications of using fillers:
- Filler rejection,
- Allergy to the composition of the filler,
- Swelling, bruising, itching, pain symptoms,
- Filler migration to nearby areas,
- Provoking tissue fibrolization in places close to the location of the filler,
- Inflammatory processes and suppuration,
- Necrosis of certain areas of tissue in violation of blood circulation.
There are contraindications to the installation or injection of fillers:
- Diseases of the immune system,
- Blood clotting disorders ,
- Systemic skin diseases,
- Metabolic disorders,
- The tendency of the skin to keloid scarring,
- The body's tendency to allergic reactions,
- The presence of tumors in the body,
- Incompatibility of the substances that make up the filler with drug therapy carried out in parallel with the rejuvenation procedures.
Do not combine filler installation:
- with pregnancy and lactation,
- with infectious or inflammatory skin diseases,
- with an acute period of any disease,
- with other cosmetic procedures: mesotherapy, hardware lifting, peeling and similar procedures.
The use of fillers in order to improve the appearance must be trusted by highly qualified specialists in this field of cosmetology in order to avoid painful consequences.
