Subcutaneous pimples on the chin.
Subcutaneous acne is a rather painful phenomenon. They resemble furuncles that form in the thickness of the subcutaneous fatty tissue. This kind of subcutaneous acne does not form an abscess on the surface of the skin, but forms a seal under the skin similar in structure to a furuncle and, like a furuncle, occupying a limited space filled with purulent exudate. A bump protrudes on the skin (or several bumps form side by side), painful when pressed. The skin on the surface of the tubercle is hyperemic and often becomes bluish. Most often, subcutaneous acne forms on the chin, subcutaneously in the neck or in the temples.
The causes of a pimple or furuncle in the thickness of the skin can be caused by a number of factors:
- conditionally pathogenic microflora that lives on the surface of the skin and is brought into the thickness of the skin through an accidental scratch, puncture or when squeezing out acne;
- endocrine disruptions, provoking increased work of the sebaceous and sweat glands and creating favorable conditions for the reproduction of microflora;
- weakened immune responses of the body to pathogens that enter various tissues from foci of infection, including subcutaneously, by hematogenous (with blood flow) or lymphogenous (with lymph flow) pathways;
- metabolic disorders, always reflected in the condition of the skin;
- improper work of the gastrointestinal tract during the digestion of food (especially food with a high content of fats and carbohydrates).
Treatment of subcutaneous acne is based on an integrated approach to the problem. It is necessary to methodically check the state of the endocrine system, in particular the level of sex hormones (affect the work of the sebaceous glands). Change the quality of food and refuse products that stimulate the secretion of the sebaceous glands: fatty meat, dairy products with high fat content, animal fats, fried foods, sweet carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, pastry, confectionery, hot spices and preserves.
Conduct immunostimulating therapy and vitamin therapy (B vitamins).
To pass tests for the presence of staphylococcal infection in the body (skin scrapings, swabs from the nose and throat). When staphylococcus is detected, subcutaneous administration of staphylococcal vaccine, anti-staphylococcal therapy is performed.
Local applications are made (Ichthyol ointment, Levomekol ointment, Dalatsin cream, Skinoren cream, Baziron AS gel).
In the absence of staphylococcal infection, autohemotherapy is performed.
It should be noted that only local treatment of subcutaneous acne will not solve the problem, and all factors that provoke the appearance of subcutaneous acne must be taken into account.
