How to get rid of acne?
In recent years, acne has become a problem not only for young people, but also for older people. The multiple causes that give rise to such a form of acne as acne put this skin disease on a par with systemic diseases, when many functional systems of the body are involved in the pathological process.
The causes of acne depend on a group of factors that provoke this condition:
- Hormonal imbalance (an increase in the amount of androgens in relation to estrogens in women, a sharp quantitative jump in androgens in men);
- Disorders of the sebaceous glands located in the mouths of hair follicles on the face, back, chest - seborrhea of the skin (increased secretory function of sebum secretion);
- Low level of resistance of the organism to colonization by various infectious agents (including conditionally pathogenic microflora of the skin: epidermal staphylococcus, propionic bacteria acne and granulosum, fungi and mites Demodex);
- Diseases of the digestive system associated with impaired fermentation, utilization of food components, as well as the presence of dysbiosis - an imbalance in the intestinal microflora;
- Prolonged stresses and excessively intense mental activity weakening the nervous system and causing disorder in the work of the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for the work of the endocrine glands;
- Hyperkeratosis of the skin, which clogs the pores of the skin and contributes to the accumulation of sebum - a favorable environment for the reproduction of pathogens;
- Medicines (steroid hormones) that contribute to the development of acne;
- Unfavorable environmental conditions (including a harmful working atmosphere), creating preconditions for exposure to the skin of various irritants of chemical and mechanical origin (for example, high humidity, excessive stuffiness, dustiness, vapors of chemical reagents, etc.).
To get rid of acne, it is necessary to comprehensively influence all of the above factors.
In adolescence, during puberty, hormonal shifts are not corrected with medication, for this reason, they affect the work of the sebaceous glands, the immune system, change the usual diet and protect the skin from the harmful effects of the environment.
It is necessary to increase the body's resistance by taking immunocorrectors, chosen by a doctor - immunologist. Intestinal dysbiosis is corrected with preparations containing bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. With a digestive problem identified by a gastroenterologist, drugs are prescribed that improve the enzymatic activity of the stomach and intestines. Further, the emphasis is on the treatment of seborrheic skin.
Nutrition and facial care are essential in acne treatment. It is strongly not recommended to do face cleansing, use scrubs and squeeze out pustules with acne, this contributes to the spread of pathogenic microorganisms to other areas of the skin that are not involved in the purulent - inflammatory process. You should not do steam baths for the face, as neighboring tissues can be involved in the purulent process. If you suspect the presence of pathogenic microflora (for example, staphylococcus, propionobacteria), scraping is made from the skin of the face and the exact microflora that supports purulent processes is established. According to a biological study, gels and creams containing antimicrobial drugs (Dalatsin gel, Dalatsin-T cream) are prescribed locally. The advisability of using antibiotics inside is determined by a dermatologist.
Among the preparations of keratolytic action for softening the skin, external agents are used that contain azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin (analogue of vitamin A).
Nutrition for acne should exclude carbohydrates and fats in quantities exceeding the minimum necessary for the body. In case of acne disease, do not eat canned and smoked food; fatty and fried foods; food rich in carbohydrates; avoid taking alcoholic beverages; energy drinks; sweet carbonated drinks.
In vitamin therapy, the emphasis is on taking retinoids, vitamin E preparations, group B, folic acid, zinc-containing preparations.
With the development of acne during the period of hormonal disruptions at an older age, hormone-correcting therapy (estrogens and antiandrogens) is used. For women, such therapy may coincide with the choice of contraceptives appropriate to the problem of hormonal failure.
