Follicular hyperkeratosis - treatment.
Follicular hyperkeratosis, called "goose-flesh" in everyday life, is an unpleasant phenomenon that causes many problems for both sexes. The dream of a smooth, shiny skin is clouded by the presence of fairly large areas of the skin, covered with small pimples. Follicular hyperkeratosis is usually observed on the skin of the limbs and buttocks.
The causes of follicular hyperkeratosis are attributed either to hereditary characteristics of the body, or to excessive cosmetic manipulations that contribute to overdrying of the skin and disruption of the processes of desquamation of keratinized cells, or to hormonal imbalance. Follicular hyperkeratosis is based on the mechanism of increased keratinization of the skin, as a result of which, which did not have time to peel off, the keratinized cells of the epidermis clog the mouth of the hair follicle and form nodules on the skin, visible to the naked eye. With mechanical irritation of skin areas suffering from follicular hyperkeratosis, the nodules become inflamed and look no longer like "goose-flesh", but like a rash. Usually, scrubs, depilation products and devices, skin peeling procedures act as irritants bodies, clothes made of rough and coarse fabrics, razors.
How to get rid of follicular hyperkeratosis ?
If follicular hyperkeratosis is hereditary, then there is no cure as such. But proper skin care in problem areas can smooth over the problem. With increased keratinization of the skin, it is necessary to carry out procedures all the time to help soften and moisturize the skin. It is strictly forbidden to use scrubs to clean off the stratum corneum, since this does not bring results and aggravates the painful condition of the skin, which is already easily traumatized. After each water procedure, it is necessary to lubricate problem areas of the skin with a moisturizer and a cream with a high content of fatty components.
Do not use:
- too hot water to wash the body (it degreases the skin over time);
- for skin care, alcohol-containing cosmetics and drying masks (with aloe, cucumber, egg white);
- drying deodorants, talc and powder in problem areas.
It must be borne in mind that salt water dries and tan the skin, for this reason, you should not add sea salt to the bathtub. For washing, it is better to use baby soap or neutral soap with cream ingredients. From time to time, you can add to the bath a series of decoctions, chamomile, which soothe the inflamed areas of the skin and have a reparative effect.
To improve the condition of the skin is necessary from time to time to hold vitamin therapy, taking B vitamins and vitamin E. As for vitamin A, this vitamin contributes to the processes of skin regeneration (that is, it provokes cell division) and in moderate doses it is necessary, but excessive enthusiasm for vitamin A can cause increased flaking, therefore, taking this vitamin should be carried out in consultation with a doctor.
Follow a diet that includes dishes with vegetable oils (olive, corn, sunflower) and fatty fish (which contain healthy fats for the body).
Follicular hyperkeratosis caused by endocrine changes requires hormonal correction.
