Chestnut tincture for joint pain.
Autumn is the time not only for fruit and vegetable preparations, but also the time to replenish the home medicine cabinet with a useful phytopreparation of our own production - a medicinal tincture of chestnut fruits.
Joints are one of the most vulnerable structures of the musculoskeletal system. Almost all "severities of life" load the articular tissue and joints: physical efforts, overweight, prolonged standing on their feet, pregnancy, fitness, professional sports, running for recovery, injury, lifting and moving heavy objects, malnutrition, metabolic disorders, and with them and the deposition of salts in the area of the articular joints.
Inflammation and pain in the joint area is not uncommon at any age, and of course, it is a frequent nuisance during the period of age-related disorders in the articular structures.
How can you manage joint pain with herbal substances? Chestnuts - ordinary wild-growing or decoratively planted horse chestnuts - will come to the rescue.
Alcohol tincture of chestnuts for joint pain can be made at home. This is an external agent and is used as a compress (rubbed in) on the outer region of the joint (note that the tincture is rubbed not on the inner surface - in the bend area, but on the outer surface of the joint).
To prepare an alcoholic tincture of chestnut for pain in joints, a glass liter container with a wide neck and a sealed lid is needed (so that the alcohol component does not erode over time), ripe (fallen) peeled horse chestnut fruits (they should fill the container half by volume), alcohol (vodka, cognac, whiskey, gin, rum or other alcoholic beverage with a high percentage of alcohol).
Sterilize the container, fill half of the container with freshly harvested chestnut kernels, peeled and cut into pieces, fill the rest of the container with a prepared alcohol solution or a ready-made high-percentage alcohol-containing drink. Put the prepared chestnut tincture in a dark place and leave for a month. After a month, remove the chestnut kernels from the container, and the chestnut tincture is ready for use. Further, the chestnut tincture is stored in a refrigerator in a hermetically sealed glass container (bottle, vial, jar).
If there is no ready-made factory 40-50% alcohol solution, how to independently prepare an alcohol solution for external use: dilute pure alcohol (70% or 90%) by a third (for 70%) and half (for 90%) with cold water. 40% alcohol is not diluted, but poured into the container as it is. It must be remembered that the high alcohol content in the solution can cause burns to mucous and delicate skin. It is for this reason that alcohol is rubbed into the outer surface, and not into the inner surface of the joint, where the skin is softer.
How to use chestnut tincture for joint pain? Twice a day (morning and evening, after a shower) rubbing alcohol tincture from chestnuts into the outer area of the joint and wrap the joint for an hour with plastic wrap. An hour later, the film is removed, the place of the compress is not washed. The procedure is carried out within two to three weeks, depending on the result. You should know that along with phytotherapy, such a compress is also a physiotherapy for joints.
