How to use Lavender in home cosmetology?
Familiar to everyone, Lavender is a common remedy for scenting indoor air, scenting bed linen and a remedy for getting rid of clothes moths. But Lavender has many benefits that put it on a par with the beneficial herbs commonly used for topical skin conditions.
Lavender is a very rare plant for use in home cosmetics. Cosmetological recipes with the participation of Lavender flowers allow you to prepare infusions for baths, facial tonics, cleansing and anti-inflammatory masks.
The simplest remedy for softening and soothing inflamed skin of the face or body is an infusion of lavender flowers, which is prepared as follows: fresh lavender flowers are kneaded in a mortar or wooden spoon and poured with hot water in a 1:1 ratio. Insist during the day and use to add to baths (for the face or body), as well as for the preparation of Lavender water, which relieves skin inflammation, including inflammation from sunburn (face and body skin). For Lavender water, a pre-prepared infusion is diluted in proportion (1 part of the prepared infusion on flowers and two parts of boiled and chilled water).
Unique Lavender Vinegar Recipe will allow you to prepare a solution from it, which will serve as a cleansing tonic for the skin of the face or body affected by acne. To prepare Lavender Vinegar, you will need 9% regular food vinegar for preservation (without flavors) in the amount of 6.7 ounces and fresh Lavender flowers in the amount of one glass (7 ounces in volume). Lavender flowers (possible with inflorescences) grind in a mortar until juice appears and pour prepared vinegar. Insist in a dark place at room temperature for one month. Next, use the resulting Lavender Vinegar in a diluted form to wipe problem skin. ATTENTION! Lavender vinegar is not used in concentrated form - you can get a skin burn. Dilute 9% Lavender Vinegar in proportion: one part Lavender Vinegar to nine parts boiled chilled water. This allows you to obtain a Lavender Skin Toner (for external use only). Lavender tonic degreases the skin and prevents the development of new inflamed acne foci.
Lavender flower mask will soften, soothe and refresh the skin. To prepare a Lavender mask, you will need one glass of fresh Lavender flowers (petals), one yolk (for dry skin) or one whipped protein (for oily skin), 1.8 ounces of cream (35%). Grind all the ingredients into a homogeneous mass with a wooden spoon and apply on the skin (face or body) for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Usually Lavender recipes in cosmetology are used for external purposes, but an aqueous infusion of Lavender flowers can be added to tea or other drinks to improve the overall condition of the skin.
Fresh and dried lavender flowers can be used to prepare water infusions or decoctions of lavender flowers for oral administration.
Lavender in addition to its aromatic properties that which are due to essential oils, is a weak antiseptic. For this reason, infusions and decoctions from Lavender flowers are not regularly consumed as drinks or as part of other drinks, so as not to destroy the beneficial microflora of the gastrointestinal tract.
