Myogelosis - home treatment.
Violation of blood circulation in muscle tissue is called myogelosis. Hypothermia of the muscle, excessive and prolonged stress on the muscle, muscle injury (stretching, tear) can lead to the occurrence of myogelosis . Very often myogelosis develops as a complication of myositis. Sometimes the symptoms of myogelosis can indicate the onset of the development of myopathic disorders.
The cause of myogelosis lies in the initiation of the process of the transition of muscle protein into a gel-like state, as a result of which the muscle tissue becomes denser, its extensibility decreases, which leads to the development of pain symptoms. In addition to pain and compaction in the area of the affected muscle, the characteristic signs of myogelosis are manifested in the form of redness of the skin over the affected muscle, signaling the development of the inflammatory process, increased pain when pressing on the compacted muscle tissue, the inability to relax the muscle. If the muscles of the neck or shoulder girdle are affected, then such myogelosis is accompanied by headaches in the occiput.
Myogelosis – treatment.
It is possible to restore the blood supply to the muscle and its functionality by conducting a course of physiotherapeutic treatment, which may include: heating, magnetotherapy, shock wave therapy of the tissues of the affected muscle.
Sometimes you have to inject drugs into the muscle (Napraxen, Ibuprofen), take muscle relaxants and carry out short-term nerve blockade with painful symptoms that are difficult to tolerate.
After the removal or reduction of the pain syndrome, you can massage the affected muscle, exercises to stretch the muscle tissue.
At home for the treatment of myogelosis, warming up with the help of saline compresses or heating pads, a hot shower, the use of anti-inflammatory gels or ointments (Nise, Fastum-gel, Bystrumgel, Apizartron, Viprosal and the like) are suitable.
