Rest at nature - how to stay healthy?
Rest at nature is one of the most affordable, low-cost and rewarding pastimes. Having at your disposal even one single day off, you can spend it in nature: outside the city, in a park, in a forest, on the shore of a reservoir and similar places. But outdoor recreation is not a safe pastime, due to the fact that a person moves away from emergency rooms, and ambulances are unlikely to go looking for you in the bosom of nature, wandering off-road.
Here are some tips on how to relax in nature and at the same time, while maintaining your health, return home alive:
- A first aid kit on the road is the first thing to think about when going out into nature, because you will find yourself in places that are unlikely to be equipped with impeccable communications and in case of misfortune you will have to rely on precisely those medicines that will be at your fingertips.
- A map of the area that you are going to visit, with the studied (at least on the map) nearby settlements and with driving roads (suddenly you have to catch a car).
- Proven alcohol will help avoid gastrointestinal upset and poisoning with surrogates. You should not conduct experiments and take on vacation unusual and unfamiliar sorts of booze, it can let you down.
- The supply of water should exceed the supply of alcohol several times, because water may be needed not only for drinking, but also for washing wounds or providing first aid to the victim.
- Only fresh food (not expired or stored in the refrigerator for weeks).
- At least one of the group of vacationers should refrain from drinking alcohol, as he may have to drive a car, take a group of people "under the direction" of people on the right road towards the house, and not on the road that seems right to the majority.
- It is necessary to take with you a notebook with an outline (handwritten) of the rules for providing first aid to the victim. You should not rely on electronic media and the Internet, because access to the Internet may not be in the area you are going to visit, and electronics tend to run out of power at the most inopportune moment of life.
- A walkie-talkie and a compass will be useful if you are going for a walk in places that are little known by tourists.
- A spare canister with gasoline, a spare wheel, a cable and a jack for those who like to walk off-road by car.
- Clothing must be suitable for natural conditions. High boots with adjustable lacing, cotton pants that tuck into the boots and a natural fiber jacket are best suited for walking on rough terrain or unkempt beach, in case you have to wade through impassable bushes.
- Do not take pregnant women, sick children and the elderly on vacation to remote and deserted places, if you do not want to give birth yourself and provide resuscitation measures to a sick person.
