Herbal medicine for diseases of the eyelids and conjunctiva.
Very often, our eyes become an object for the introduction of infection or inflammation caused by damage by fine dust particles in one way or another: during the dusting of the atmosphere outside, when working in dusty industrial premises, when fighting house dust, when knocking out carpets, when combing the eyes not washed hands and in many other cases.
Sometimes it happens that when we wake up in the morning, we notice that the eyelids are a little sticky or there are crusts / lumps of mucus around the edges of the eyelid. You wash - and everything seems to be in order. Our eyes are designed in such a way that the lacrimal fluid produced by the glands is itself a kind of antiseptic (immune agent), which, washing the cornea of the eye, eyelids and conjunctiva, destroys opportunistic organisms that have accidentally entered. But sometimes it is not enough to fight infection or inflammation, and it is necessary to help the body to resist the harmful environment a little. To do this, you can use several types of plants, or rather infusions of them, to make eye baths or rinse, wipe your eyes in the morning and / or in the evening.
With the appearance of symptoms of "sour eyes", conjunctivitis , infectious and inflammatory diseases of the eyelid , blepharitis, you can use the following recipes:
For baths, rinses, lotions and compresses:
- Two tablespoons with a slide of chamomile flowers are poured with a glass of water brought to a boil, insisted until almost completely cooled, filtered.
- Two tablespoons of creeping thyme herb is brewed with a glass of water brought to a boil, insisted, filtered.
- Strongly brewed black tea (you can use the remaining brew) to warm to a slightly warm state, pass through a strainer.
- Marshmallow root powder - 6 grams, pour a glass of chilled water, leave for 10 hours, an infusion of room temperature is suitable for washing.
For lotions and compresses only:
- One or two teaspoons of blue cornflower flower are poured with a glass of boiled water, insisted, filtered.
- Brew a tablespoon of the string with a glass of boiled water, insist until it cools almost completely, and filter.
- Grind dry dill seeds in a mortar - one tablespoon, pour 1.5 cups of boiled water, insist, filter with gauze draped over a strainer.
- Grind dry plantain seeds in a mortar - 2 teaspoons, add two teaspoons of water, shake well, add six more tablespoons of boiled water and insist, shaking occasionally. Filter out.
- Rosehip petals (100 grams) pour a glass of water, boil for 4-5 hours, cool, drain.
- Lily of the valley flowers (15 grams) pour a glass of boiled water, insist, filter.
- Pour a mixture of soapwort herb, blue cornflower flowers, black elderberry flowers (20 grams of each plant) with two glasses of boiled water, leave for 8 hours, filter.
- Grind the aloe leaf, squeeze the juice through cheesecloth, dilute in boiled slightly warm water in proportions 1:10.
- Pour calendula flowers (15 grams) with a glass of boiled water, insist, filter.
What is the difference between lotions and rinses? When rinsing, the agent falls on the inner sides of the eyelids, the conjunctiva and the cornea of the eye, and with lotions - only on the outer side of the eyelid and the edge of the eyelid.
Lotions are carried out using a soft natural fabric folded several times, a napkin or cotton pad, turunda; moistened in the infusion and, almost without squeezing, applied to the eye, closing the eyelids, holding it for a while, rubbing the eyelids with a slight pressure, again moistening in the infusion and so on several times. Do not apply lotions to both eyes with the same tampon, napkin, and so on and use the same portion of the infusion to avoid spreading the infection. If you plan to make lotions for two eyes, then the infusion is divided into two parts and poured into different containers.
Washing is carried out using a small rubber syringe, having previously typed the infusion into it, pull the eyelids to make a bag, and pour the contents of the syringe. At the same time, you can cover and open the eyelid several times so that the infusion envelops the cornea of the eye.
Eye baths are made as follows: a slightly warm infusion is poured into a suitable container (such that you can immerse an eye in it - only one eye) and the eye is immersed there, the eyelids are opened and closed, trying to wash the cornea and eyelids with the infusion. The bath for the second eye is done in a different container and with the help of another portion of the infusion, so as not to transfer the infection.
For the compress, use the same improvised means as for lotions, but hold it against the eyelids for 10 minutes, then dip it again in the infusion and repeat the procedure for as long as they can spend on it. Compress on the second eye is done with a new portion of the solution and new tampons and napkins.
