Nebulizers - practical application.
For people suffering from chronic diseases of the pharynx, trachea or respiratory tract, it is important that the drug acts specifically on the affected area of the mucous membrane. Most drugs used for colds have a systemic effect. And this means that those organs and organ systems that do not need drug therapy are also exposed to their action. In order to localize the effect of the drug and make it targeted, inhalations were invented, which in recent years have gone beyond the home arsenal of remedies and have become a professional means of medical treatment of the disease.
With the invention of the nebulizer, a device capable of converting a liquid drug into an aerosol and delivering it in a stream to the larynx region, and during inhalation and further along the respiratory system, inhalations have become more effective.
There are three types of nebulizers:
- work on ultrasound - the drug is delivered by means of a sound wave. These are powerful devices that operate from a power source, and are not used at home due to the complexity of carrying and significant dimensions;
- compressor rooms - they work on the basis of air supply under high pressure, which sprays the drug - they work from a stationary power source and are inconvenient to carry due to being tied to electricity;
- membrane - spray the drug by vibrating the perforated membrane - are portable and easy to carry.
The conditions for the correct use of the nebulizer are the key to effective treatment; therefore, you should not prepare solutions for the nebulizer from home infusions. Factory medicines for the preparation of solutions not only contain active medicinal components, but also oils, which, when sprayed and hit on the inflamed mucous membrane, produce an emollient and soothing effect.
It makes sense to use nebulizers when a disease of the respiratory tract and nasopharynx, oropharynx, trachea or bronchi begins to develop, and the use of other types of drugs is not advisable.
.With the help of inhalation with a nebulizer, it is possible to deliver the medicine in the form of an aerosol to such hard-to-reach places where liquid medicine or ointment will not get.
