Water mattress - practice of use.
People who care about their comfort have had the idea to buy a water mattress more than once. What does a water mattress promise useful for comfort and health?
A water mattress is an exotic bedroom interior and a dream of almost all inhabitants. But the practice of using a water mattress suggests that it is not always a comfortable sleeping place, but rather entertainment for a person who is resting.
The water mattress can be of various designs - single-chamber, multi-chamber with balloons. This feature of the design of the inner part of the mattress affects both its price (multi-chamber is more expensive) and the risks of use (when a single-chamber mattress is punctured, the entire volume of water will flow out, when a multi-chamber mattress is punctured - only that part of the volume of water that is in the punctured chamber - cylinder).
It is not particularly convenient to sit on a single-chamber mattress even for one person (it bends), for this reason they are released as single beds.
The water mattress is heated and unheated. A non-heated water mattress has a cool surface, and a heated water mattress requires a decent amount of electricity (the instructions for the mattress describe the energy intensity of the heating element) and the presence of an outlet near the bed.
Since the heating of a water mattress occurs at the time of its night use, then when the temperature regime in the atmosphere of the room changes towards a decrease in temperature, condensation forms on the synthetic surface of the mattress (from water particles of atmospheric air) - this contributes to moistening the bed linen or bedspreads on the water mattress and regular drying the bed.
Despite the rather dense structure of the covers of the water mattress (withstanding the pressure of water and the weight of several human bodies), the water mattress can be vulnerable to the teeth and claws of pets. The same fate awaits water mattresses from owners who love to smoke while lying in bed (ashes can burn the cover). Out of curiosity, small children can pierce or cut through the cover of the water mattress, which is also dangerous not only for the neighbors downstairs, but also for the child himself, who can be frightened by the sharp pressure of water from the mattress.
A water mattress is filled with water or a special composition of liquid (usually treated with antiseptics), which creates a wave-like swing of the body located on the mattress. When a person is awake, this specificity of the “behavior” of the mattress contributes to the relaxation of the nervous system, but it is not convenient for everyone to sleep “rocking”, since a person can automatically wake up when the water surface of the mattress moves, and the whole sleep will be intermittent with each turn of the body in a dream.
The water in the mattress must be changed at least once a year, at the maximum - it is written in the instructions. In addition, a special antimicrobial conditioner for disinfection is added to the water, which will have to be forked out for. Water mattresses are quite water-consuming, for this reason water charges can also change.
Double water mattresses weigh up to half a ton, which makes it impossible for the mattress or bed to move independently with it. The bed frame needs to be especially strong to support the weight of the mattress, so you can't put it on a regular bed.
You can talk about the advantages of a water mattress as long as about its disadvantages:
- Water mattresses are hypoallergenic and can be a way out for chronic allergy sufferers.
- Water mattresses are not dust collectors.
- On a cool night, a person is guaranteed a warm bed when using a heated water mattress.
- A water mattress is a good relaxation tool for people with increased stress on the spine.
- The water mattress is firm enough (modern models contain elastic inserts made of natural materials) to relieve the spine and muscles, but if you take a horizontal position "on the back", for those who like to sleep "on their stomach", the mattress may turn out to be uncomfortable.
- In hygienic care, the water mattress is simple - it is wiped with a cloth from dust and an antiseptic (if necessary), since it has a washable moisture-resistant surface.
- Modern (not cheap) models of water mattresses contain a gel in the form of a filler, which is able to take certain forms that repeat the shape of the body, which, from the point of view of the orthopedic usefulness of the mattress, gives it additional points.
- To move the bed during a change of scenery and to move the mattress itself (and in the event of a move), the water can be released from it.
- You can easily glue the puncture or slot in the water mattress frame using rubber glue and a vinyl patch (or any sealed fabric).
- Water mattresses have models for adults and children, taking into account the quirks of both users.
