Poisoning in pets.
It is in vain that we believe that an unattended animal at home is safe.
Even at home, a cat or dog can be susceptible to dangerous conditions - poisoning. Pet poisoning is the most common disease. Where do pets find poisonous and toxic substances?
The irrepressible habit of gnawing and chewing anything that comes into sight can lead, if not to death, then to very severe poisoning in a pet.
Firstly, it concerns the means for repair forgotten or stored within the reach of the animal: glue, dyes in tubes, sealants, putties in soft and hard tubes, putties in the form of powders stored in paper packages.
The second group of hazardous substances, the presence of which may be in the access zone of the animal, are chemicals for floriculture and gardening. Folded, in your opinion, neatly on the high shelves of the pantry, these substances can accidentally attract the attention of your pet, especially one that is inclined to climb unbeknownst to you in secluded corners of the house.
The third category of hazardous substances that can cause animal poisoning are commonplace ornamental plants, the leaves and stems of which may contain dangerous poisons.
How to protect the animals living with you from poisoning. This is done in the same way as they do with small children, out of curiosity climbing all the accessible places and pulling everything that they like into their mouths. All supposedly toxic substances of any purpose are taken out of the house and stored in separate closed utility rooms. Glue, medicines, paint for painting and other household items of chemical production are stored strictly under lock and key. Do not have ornamental plants with dubious chemical properties at home. To do this, before purchasing a houseplant, read its characteristics.
If the animal, despite your efforts, nevertheless finds something to profit from in the absence of your attention, remove all potentially dangerous and potentially interesting objects and substances from the zone of availability.
