What foods should not be excluded from the diet?
In dietetics of the past, there were several myths that a number of food products, if not harmful to the body, are useless for it. And experts in the field of healthy eating have recommended diets that exclude certain foods from the diet. So milk fell into disgrace, which is supposedly useless for adults, since it is not absorbed by the body. Fatty meats were considered a source of bad cholesterol and a high-calorie product. Bread and baked goods were, to put it mildly, discouraged in weight loss diets.
On the contrary, some products were recommended for consumption even raw, without giving in to critical comprehension. For example, spinach was considered an indispensable product for adherents of "weight-loss" diets, and wheat sprouts were generally ranked as a health product.
But the discoveries of recent years have forced to reconsider the attitude towards the above products and to correct the way they are eaten.
So milk is useful to drink regardless of age, because it contains a set of essential amino acids and calcium. The restriction on milk consumption applies only to the category of people who suffer from diseases associated with impaired digestion of dairy products or people with a history of dysbiosis (lack of bacteria involved in the metabolism of lactic acid).
Meat, regardless of what degree of fat it is, should not be excluded from the diet, because it contains a lot of iron (and this is one of the main components of blood), protein (building element), energy value (to maintain physical endurance in the body). Different types of meats are suitable for different types of diets. The main thing is the ways of its preparation.
Flour products made from various types of grain are a storehouse of vegetable protein, fiber and microelements. You just need to be able to manipulate the use of baked goods, depending on the goals of the diet.
Spinach and sorrel are those plants that contain abundant oxalic acid, a substance that promotes stone formation in the urinary and biliary systems. For this reason, they should not be abused by people who have a tendency to stone formation or diseases in these systems.
Wheat sprouts do not have any special therapeutic effect, but they contain lectins that are harmful to the digestive tract.
When choosing a set of products for the formation of a diet, you should not go to extremes and exclude from eating foods whose nutritional value is undeniable. And you should not look for beneficial properties in those products, the composition of which can have a harmful effect on any functions of the body.
