Eating on an empty stomach.
How many nutritionists do not assure that fasting is harmful, there is a great temptation to give up food for at least half a day when you want to lose weight quickly. But now you have been starving for half a day and what should you eat now so as not to get a large amount of calories? Of course, it comes to mind to eat fresh vegetables and fruits that are low in calories and will not spoil a hungry diet. But this is a mistake, since they will not spoil the diet, but they spoil the gastrointestinal tract, adding diseases with which you can stay for life.
Eating on an empty stomach also becomes a problem if fasting is necessary before medical research. You should not burden the body with eating foods that are heavy for digestion if you have abstained from eating in the evening to cleanse the body before blind probing, X-rays or other medical procedures.
What shouldn't be eaten on an empty stomach?
It is a mistake to believe that fermented milk products are useful on an empty stomach. Despite the fact that fermented milk products create favorable conditions for the reproduction of beneficial microflora, they also add acid, which will injure the mucous membrane of an empty stomach.
Raw vegetables and fruits are also full of natural acids (fruit, ascorbic, citric, etc.) that are harmful to the gastrointestinal mucosa. Juices and fruit drinks will also add acid to your stomach, which is fraught with the development of gastritis in the "best" case, ulcers in the worst case.
Baking pastries and rye bread on an empty stomach will add troubles with increased gas formation and the development of heartburn. Flatulence can be provoked by carbonated drinks, cold water.
What foods can you eat on an empty stomach, if you really need to starve? First of all, these are vegetable soups (not in meat broth), mashed soups and boiled vegetables. Compotes, jelly or milk are suitable for drinking.
Meat dishes and fish are best eaten stewed on an empty stomach. Smoked meat products and fish stimulate the production of gastrointestinal enzymes, which in increased amounts can injure the gastrointestinal tract tissues. Spices and sauces have the same effect. For this reason, canned food or food flavored with sauce is also harmful on an empty stomach.
