Raw food - what is it?
A raw food is a principle of nutrition, in which one condition is observed: products of plant origin are eaten without preliminary heat treatment. The raw food diet is based on fruits, vegetables and berries. As side dishes, cereals with pre-germinated grains (wheat, rye, green buckwheat), sprouted legumes (lentils, peas), sprouted seeds (sunflower, pumpkin), nuts are used. Green vegetables (lettuce, kale, stalks, roots and leaves of celery, and the like) add variety to the raw food diet. Suitable for raw food and seafood (oysters, seaweed, dried fish). From meat products, you can use stroganin (strongly frozen meat).
For a raw food, both freshly picked vegetables, berries and fruits and dried ones are suitable. For convenience, dried fruits, berries, vegetables are restored by pouring water over them and insisting for a while (soaked).
The raw food diet is attracting attention because it preserves vitamins and microelements in food, which are destroyed during heat treatment.
An interesting raw food diet and a large amount of fiber in the diet, which stimulates the digestive tract.
There are contraindications to a raw food:
- diseases of the gastrointestinal tract associated with inflammatory processes of the mucous membrane;
- ulcers, erosion, trauma to the digestive tract;
- diarrhea;
- tumors, polyps of the digestive tract.
A raw food of seafood and meat products is dangerous , as it can cause infection with parasites of the human body.
They switch from regular food to a raw food diet gradually, otherwise you can damage the digestive tract, disrupting their usual rhythm of work (including enzymatic activity).
You should not consider a raw food diet as a universal remedy for all diseases. But a raw food diet (not even one hundred percent) can help improve vascular health (as an anti-cholesterol diet), improve intestinal motility with a tendency to constipation, and help reduce weight.
