Placebo - what is it?
Oddly enough it sounds, but there are a number of diseases for which drug therapy is not indicated. But in conditions when the patient does not understand the importance of the effectiveness of methods of psychological treatment, physiotherapy, physical therapy complexes and tries to pin their hopes on drug treatment, doctors resort to using placebo.
Placebos are called pacifiers that have no active effect on the body. They are used to create the effect of drug therapy, but a placebo is a psychological effect on a person to convince him of the possibility of curing a health disorder without chemical intervention, which often has irreversible side effects.
Placebo pills are especially often used in the treatment of mental disorders of inorganic origin: depression, hypobulia, Munchausen syndrome, asthenic syndrome, alcohol and drug addiction and other conditions of the body, where a person can emerge from the disease on his own with the help of psychological adjustment, and not with the help of medications.
The placebo allows you to cope with a number of diseases practically with the help of psychological persuasion. Scientists have long noticed that bad mood and stress affect the course of chemical reactions in the body, provoking the onset of the disease. Conclusions were made, which were confirmed experimentally in control groups of people that if there is an opportunity to change the course of metabolic processes in the body for the worse, then there is an opportunity to influence them in the same way, but in the direction of improvement.
The placebo is the factor of treatment that gives a person the opportunity to independently deploy the work of his body in the direction of recovery, and not disease.
