Could there be a false pregnancy?
Despite the fact that pregnancy is such a physiological process that is difficult to "ignore", it happens that not all women are able to notice the signs of pregnancy in time and realize that their state of the body is undergoing, albeit temporary, but still changes ... But even more paradoxical is the case when other conditions are taken for pregnancy, which are similar in sensations and changes in the body. And when, during the diagnosis, it turns out that there is no pregnancy, the question arises of what kind of condition it was? Maybe a false pregnancy?
In fact, there is no false pregnancy, but there are physiological states of the body in women that are very similar to the symptoms of pregnancy.
Where do the signs of pregnancy come from in the absence of it? This is due to changes in the hormonal metabolism of a woman. It's no secret that women are more hormone-dependent creatures than men. That is, a woman's life literally takes place in a hormonal halo. Good and bad mood, resentment, nervousness, moodiness, violent disposition and many other features of the female state are the result of the work of her hormonal metabolism. And if there are prerequisites for imbalance in the work of sex hormones, this is reflected directly in the woman's worldview and her physiological sensations.
Why is it about sensations? Because the state of pregnancy is associated with sensations: poor general health, disorders of the digestive tract (nausea, urge to vomit), tension of the muscle corset in the abdomen.
And although it is believed that the female body is more hardy than the male, but not in the case of a violation of sexual hormonal metabolism, which reduces the woman's resistance to stress in relation to external factors.
Especially difficult is the life of a woman in anticipation of the miracle of pregnancy, if this pregnancy is long-awaited. Often, hopes for a quick pregnancy and having children collapse due to many reasons associated with the genetic characteristics of the female body, functional disorders in the functioning of the genital organs, past diseases (infections, inflammations) or injuries (abortions) that disrupt the correct course of conception and the subsequent reproductive process ... During this period, a woman is able to experience stress of such power, which disrupts the course of hormonal processes and leads to psychological and physiological disruption, which is expressed in signs of false pregnancy:
- long-term failure of the menstrual cycle - taken as a delay due to conception;
- nausea and vomiting - taken for symptoms of toxicosis during pregnancy;
- swelling of the mammary glands with excessive production of the hormone estrogen, and then prolactin (which is closely related to dopamine, which is responsible for the feeling of joy and happiness) - is taken as a sign of preparing the body for the reproductive process;
- weight gain - taken for a growing fetus;
- heaviness and tension in the lower abdomen - taken as the movement of the fetus.
The main hormone responsible for pregnancy is chorionic gonadotropin. Its appearance in the blood suggests that a fertilized egg has been attached to the formed placenta in the chorionic region (the area of the placenta to which the embryo is attached). It is the chorion that produces the necessary hormone that changes the entire state of the female body and is responsible for the survival of the fetus. If the level of chorionic gonadotropin falls, it is possible that the pregnancy may fail, rejection of the placenta, rejection of the fetus and, as a result, miscarriage.
Chorionic gonadotropin is closely related to adrenal hormones, and in particular the stress hormone - cortisol, which allows a woman to endure all the severities of pregnancy, which, by its physiological characteristics, is stress for the woman's body.
But with severe chronic stress, which caused hormonal disruptions, the appearance of chorionic gonadotropin in the blood can also become a sign of not only pregnancy, but also very serious diseases associated with tumor formation (rapid division of tissue cells).
For this reason, when "signs of pregnancy" appear, a laboratory blood test and other diagnostic tests are always necessary, which will confirm or exclude pregnancy, but also draw the doctor's attention to the possible development of neoplasms in the body.
The state of false pregnancy is referred to as psychophysiological failures. And this condition is treatable (corrected) - they take sedatives, regulate the hormonal background (level out), recommend frequent walks in the fresh air, reducing physical activity, improving nutrition and avoiding psychological obsession with the pregnancy process. And pregnancy, in the meantime, will take its course, because the body always chooses the most optimal mode for its functioning, and even more so for procreation, and in a stressful state, pregnancy may not occur - the body needs a state of peace, and not an intense emergency mode of life.
