Reflexology with pepper plaster.
The pepper patch is the most affordable tool for reflexology at home.
The main active ingredient, due to which reflexotherapy is carried out, is an extract of chilli red hot pepper, which has a superficial irritating effect on the skin, which helps to attract inflammatory mediators to the heated area of the skin, an inflow of capillary blood. Reflexology with pepper plaster can play a warming role, distract maneuver from other areas of pain, and also have a weak local analgesic effect due to burning of skin receptors and their temporary shock deactivation, which creates an unstable effect of numbness, but thereby allows to dull the pain syndrome.
There are a number of contraindications for using pepper plaster for home reflexology:
- Dermatological diseases of skin areas that are suitable for applying a patch,
- Skin infections (acute and chronic) in the foci of the application of the pepper patch,
- Moles, birthmarks and other skin outgrowths, which are strictly forbidden to warm up or injure in any other way.
- Overly sensitive areas of the skin where you can get a real burn from the pepper plaster.
The most common and simplest way to use a pepper patch for self-reflexology is to apply the entire patch sheet or two patch sheets to the skin area corresponding to the pain symptom in the area of the muscles or ligamentous apparatus.
A less commonly used but more effective way of applying a pepper patch is to divide it into narrow strips or squares (at least one centimeter wide) and stick the strips (squares) of pepper patch to areas of the skin that are larger than the area of the skin corresponding to the internal focus of pain. In this case, several rules are observed:
- The adhesive area of the plaster also covers the areas adjacent to the painful areas
- Stripes (squares) are distributed according to key reflexogenic zones on the skin - acupuncture is simulated
Where to glue the pepper plaster for pain in the cervical spine?
Having drawn the imaginary midline of the neck from the back, reach the location of the seventh cervical vertebra and stick a square of pepper plaster below the seventh vertebra - under the vertebra.
Walking a path in a straight line below the seventh vertebra 5 cm, glue another square of pepper plaster.
Further, moving down the imaginary line, glue several squares of the patch in the area of the shoulder blades - at intervals.
Feel the soft tissues in the cervical-shoulder region and, with the help of finger pressure, find the most painful points in, stick the squares of the plaster in front of them.
The dotted pepper patch can be kept on the skin for three to seven days - it all depends on the sensitivity of the skin type and the effectiveness of the pepper patch. Spot gluing the patch has an advantage over the leafy pepper patch - it does not get a burn and you can keep the patch on the skin for a longer time. Unnecessary areas of the body are not involved in warming up.
For cervical osteochondrosis, cervical spondylosis, neuralgia of the cervical spine, myositis, cervical lumbago, lumbago and other painful manifestations of cervical osteochondrosis, point reflexology with pepper plaster is used. Reflexology with pepper plaster can be performed in cases of acute or chronic manifestations of painful symptoms.
Reflexotherapy of the thoracic spine with pepper plaster consists in gluing pain points along the spine in the thoracic spine. All probed pain points are glued along the spine and along it to the left and right in the region from the upper corner of the shoulder blades to the lower corner of the shoulder blades on the inner side of the shoulder blades, as a result, there should be three sequences of squares of the plaster parallel to the spinal column - at least 9 points of the sticker.
Pepper reflexology with a plaster of the lumbar spine - consists in gluing pointwise or in thin stripes Draw an imaginary line between the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae (it connects the iliac crests) Moving from the imaginary line along the spinal column upwards, it is necessary to find 2 and 3 vertebrae and glue the squares of the plaster in the intervals between 2 and 3 (the cavity between the vertebrae), then we find the cavity between the 4 and 5 lumbar vertebrae and glue the square of the plaster into it.
Next, pain points are glued (palpate the most painful points in the space between the level of the lower ribs and the gluteal fold).
Reflexology with pepper plaster is feasible both independently (you can use a mirror or with the help of family members), is easily performed at home, can be repeated many times as needed, and does not require deep knowledge of anatomy. Reflexology with pepper plaster can be performed in cases where there is no serious damage to the cartilaginous tissue of the vertebral joints, and the bone tissue of the vertebrae is not damaged. Reflexology with pepper plaster can be used to prevent diseases of the muscular corset of the spine and various inflammations that develop as a result of overstretching, hypothermia and overloading of the muscles of the spinal column.
