Sunbathing as a physiotherapy.
Sun bath - one of the oldest physical treatments that can be performed outdoors or in a specially equipped room. We are not talking about sunburn, which is least useful for the body, but about the positive effect of sunlight on the metabolic processes of the body.
It is no secret that a person is as much a “child of nature” as plants that are drawn to sunlight. But in the human body, sunlight does not support the processes of photosynthesis, as in plants, but the processes of the formation of useful substances - vitamins, as elements of chemical reactions, and, against their background, improve the assimilation of many other useful substances. For example, without sunlight, vitamin D is not formed in the body , and without its participation such a trace element as calcium is not absorbed.
For many skin diseases of a metabolic origin, the sun's rays are beneficial. They activate metabolic processes in cells, thereby having a beneficial effect on the course of skin disease.
The sun's rays can replace drugs in the case of certain depressive conditions, improving the functioning of the nervous system.
But prolonged exposure to the open sun has a detrimental effect on the immune system, inhibiting the work of immune agents. For this reason, sunbathing should be taken in dosage.
The most favorable period for sunbathing is springtime, when the sun's rays are diffused. In the summertime, sunbathing is recommended to be taken before 11 am and after 4 pm, when the sun is not at its zenith. In winter, sunbathing is good at any time. Half an hour daily is quite enough for solar physiotherapy to improve metabolic reactions in the body.
Not all people are shown sunbathing in the same way . There are a number of diseases, predisposition to them and some painful conditions in which the sun's rays are categorically contraindicated:
- oncological diseases,
- benign tumors,
- autoimmune diseases,
- some skin diseases,
- diseases of the thyroid gland,
- bleeding,
- chronic diseases in the acute stage,
- period of hormonal disruption,
- increased body temperature,
- high blood pressure,
and it is also not recommended to sunbathe:
- during pregnancy,
- after suffering infectious diseases (meningitis, tuberculosis and other infectious diseases of the lungs),
- in a state of acute mental disorder,
- in pre-infarction and pre-stroke conditions.
