What weakens the immune system?
The immune system is practically the only human ally in its resistance to dangerous infections of the outside world. In order for the level of work of the human immune system to correspond to the degree of danger of the attacking microorganism, it must work flawlessly in all areas of its activity (cellular and humoral immunity). But there are a number of factors that weaken the immune system.
Reasons for a weakened immune system:
- Congenital or acquired hypofunction of the immune system - immunodeficiency.
- Autoimmune reactions are directed not against the antigen - the aggressor, but against the human body itself.
- Overactive immunity is an overestimated response of the immune system.
Where does immunodeficiency come from? Unlike congenital immunodeficiency, when the work of immunity factors was formed in an incorrect way, immunodeficiency is acquired as a result of diseases (immunodeficiency virus, herpes virus, hepatitis virus, cytomegalovirus, influenza virus, parasitic and bacterial infections, etc.) or medicinal chemicals (immunosuppressants, chemotherapy drugs).

Harmful environmental conditions (xenobiotics, radiation) suppress the intensity of immune reactions, weakening the immune system.
Autoimmune reactions occur when the immune system does not correctly recognize antigens, mistaking for them, for example, hormonally altered cells in the body itself.
