My own psychologist >>>> Dependence on someone else's opinion
Dependence on someone else's opinion.
Among the various kinds of harmful addictions, there is one, to which not just a few, but many people are subject - this is dependence on someone else's opinion. The habit of living not with one's own opinion, but with the opinion of others, goes back to ancient times, when herd instincts prevailed in people, and they needed to coordinate their actions with their own kind in order to survive in a dangerous environment. But times have changed long ago, and the habit of looking back at the reaction of others has become entrenched at the subconscious level and prevents many from expressing their individuality.
Sometimes it is useful to listen to public opinion when it comes to proven ways to achieve well-being and prestige. Such someone else's opinion forms ambition in a person, a desire to move forward in life with great success, and increases his self-esteem.
Public opinion has a positive effect on a person's upbringing when it keeps his behavior within the bounds of decency.
But in matters of taste, choice of life path, choice of a partner, arrangement of personal life and personal comforts, public opinion can often direct a person not towards improving his life, but straight to decline.
Being different from the majority does not mean being an ugly duckling or a black sheep. This means that individuality has settled in a person, and it is she who generates talents, gives a person the opportunity to show their abilities in a way that no one else may have done before, to become noticeable for other people and even an example to follow.
To depend on someone else's opinion means to close your path to development, to bring everyday life into your life and merge with that mass of people who do not strive for anything in life.
It is worth knowing that if others think about you, then perhaps you have reached a level where your achievements cannot be unnoticed by most people.
