What is distress?
When we talk about stress, they mean the load on the body, in particular, on its nervous system. But stress can be positive in nature - eustress, and negative in nature - distress. Distress is talked about when stress takes on a protracted, chronic form.
Distress is a condition that is poorly controlled by the person himself, which depletes the body's adaptive reserves and contributes to the development of various kinds of diseases. Diseases generated by distress destroy the nervous system, the immune system, the endocrine system, and, therefore, disrupt almost all body functions, turning into systemic diseases.
Distress is able to bring discord in the emotional sphere of life, in the sphere of sexual relations, is capable of undermining the foundations of a person's intellectual development and pushing him towards degradation.
Signs of distress:
- Fatigue that falls quickly,
- Bad dream,
- Decreased concentration of attention,
- Loss of appetite,
- Loss of interest in entertainment,
- Unmotivated irritability.
To say goodbye to distress, it is necessary to deal with the reasons that keep a person in constant stress: overload at work (intellectual and physical), discord in family life, poor material security. To manage your workload, learn to negotiate with your superiors. Family life can improve if you start to be a little more attentive to your family members. The low level of income from the main job can be compensated for by additional earnings (for example, freelancing).
