My own psychologist >>>> Possibilities of art therapy
Possibilities of art therapy.
Psychologists and psychotherapists have long noticed that interviewing a patient with an unstable psycho-emotional state is not as effective as analyzing the results of his self-expression. This is how the idea of art therapy arose - the transformation of emotions into applied arts - drawing, modeling, creating collages, composing music and other types of creativity, allowing a person to convey his inner emotional state without words.
Not all people can accurately describe their inner discomfort in words, but almost everyone is able to express themselves in a creative impulse. Art psychologists can only correctly decipher the subtleties of the emotional mood, conveyed by a person through a palette of colors, sounds, shapes and contours.
The other side of art therapy is to allow a person to let go of a stressful state, to direct thoughts and movements along the path of self-expression and self-development. It is no secret that for many people in need of psychological help, shifting attention from isolation on their own inner world to the external environment, where you can broadcast your mood, transforming it into objects of art and creativity that are useful to other people, becomes an opportunity to make unproductive stress productive, accumulated during the time of closing in on their experiences and painful conditions.
Even if there is no suitable art therapist nearby who is able to analyze the proposed results of creativity and give professional advice, there will always be several people from a non-professional environment, empaths, who are sensitive to the mood of the master and are able to consider in the proposed works (results of creativity) the signs of the inner state of the author of creativity.
The possibilities of art therapy are almost endless. For a person overwhelmed by inner experiences, art therapy often becomes the beginning of the path to healing from mental anxiety, an opportunity to organize your thoughts, proof of his need for others and the usefulness of his skills for many who are able to appreciate the emotional impulses of a creative person.
Art therapy has many positive side effects, including:
- mobilizes human internal resources,
- contributes to the generation of ideas and vital goals,
- focuses on practical applied matters, and not on fruitless inferences,
- takes a person into the world of applied arts from the world of mental disorders,
- develops creative thinking, which in turn contributes to the development of non-traditional approaches to solving their own psychological problems.
Art therapy is an opportunity to move from self-destruction to self-creation, self-realization. For a person himself, art therapy can be an outlet, a way out of the stress flow, when a person has no other opportunities to receive psychological help.
