Photothermolysis - what is it?
Photothermolysis is one of the skin rejuvenation procedures. The technique is based on the regenerative properties of the body to restore damaged tissue areas under the influence of trauma. Microscopic areas of the skin are "traumatized" by the laser (thermal tissue damage). Hence the name of the procedure - fractional photothermolysis.
Fractional photothermolysis allows you to eliminate small in length scars (after microtraumas, acne and other skin lesions), shallow wrinkles, change pigmented skin areas, removes stretch marks, angiectasias.
Bloodless laser "injury" allows the skin to recover in a short period of time, almost painlessly.
Photothermolysis is considered a minimally invasive method, does not cause complications, does not destroy melanocytes. The depth of the laser burn is about 1 mm. The recovery period of the skin can be up to two weeks, depending on the sensitivity of the skin and the time for the edema and redness to subside, and the peeling stops.
The entire course of photothermolysis is from 3 to 5 procedures with a recovery interval of about three months. The effective result lasts for about three years. During the periods of skin rehabilitation after the procedure, protective creams from the sun's rays are used. The photothermolysis procedure is not tied to the season.
For procedures photothermolysis suitable skin of different ages ranging from 16 years. But there are a number of contraindications that prevent photothermolysis, since laser heating can affect the temperature regime of the skin and provoke complications of many diseases:
- Inflammatory skin diseases (including infectious ones),
- folliculitis,
- The height of chronic diseases (not only skin diseases),
- Acute respiratory infections,
- Poor general health,
- Infectious diseases (viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic),
- Oncological diseases.
Moles, benign tumors are bypassed with photothermolysis at a long distance.
For photothermolysis, the skin in the area of the face, neck, décolleté, extremities and other areas of the skin where a rejuvenation and regeneration procedure is needed is suitable.
