When massage is a health problem.
The most accessible and demanded procedure for both sick and healthy people - massage, can be fatal to health, and not healthy. Why is this happening? When is massage a health problem?
Massage is not a safe manipulation of muscle tissue, since it can affect rather deep muscle layers, moving them and at the same time moving subcutaneous deposits, shifting them from the place where they formed naturally. In this way, compression of the nerve endings is created, which can sometimes be eliminated only by surgical intervention.
Kneading and rubbing tissues during massage always leads to an increase in the speed of blood flow, which, with a beneficial effect on metabolic processes and tissue trophism, creates conditions for the movement of blood clots through the bloodstream, formed during stagnation in the massaged area of the body. And this is dangerous with thrombosis of blood vessels of a smaller section.
Accelerated blood circulation in tissues heated by massage is able to transfer infectious agents from foci of infection to various parts of the body, thus infecting areas of the body that have not been affected by infection. For example, if an inflammatory process develops in the body somewhere or an abscess matures ( boil, abscess, folliculitis and something like that), part of its purulent contents can enter the bloodstream and seeding the entire body with the infection that caused this abscess.
For the same reason, massage is not done during the period of respiratory diseases of the mouth and nose, respiratory tract.
With disorders of cerebral circulation, a banal massage of the cervical spine can provoke a stroke, not to mention the rupture of an aneurysm, which a person may not know about.
Even in a healthy person, intense massage increases blood pressure, but if a person is hypertensive, then massage can cause a hypertensive crisis.
Weakness of the vascular wall and a tendency to bleeding (including gastric and intestinal) create dangerous conditions when bleeding can become uncontrollable, which is fraught with death.
Chronic infectious diseases (including sexually transmitted diseases) will acquire the scale of sepsis, if such an infection is "dispersed" throughout the body with massage.
Considering all the described cases of dangerous combination of massage with relative health, it is worthwhile before signing up for a massage session to consult with a doctor about your health condition and possible consequences after the massage, taking into account the medical history.
