Violation of protein metabolism.
Violation of protein metabolism is the basis for the development of many pathological processes. In the body of a healthy person, there is a certain balance between the amount of proteins supplied with food, their utilization and excretion, but as a result of various kinds of disruptions (starvation, gastrointestinal dysfunction, thyrotoxicosis, proteinuria, liver diseases, burns), this balance changes towards a decrease in protein absorption and increasing the amount of excreted proteins. Disorders of protein metabolism can occur at all stages of entry, utilization and removal of protein structures from the body.
Almost the only source of components for protein synthesis is food. Disorders of the processes of digestion and absorption of proteins in the intestine as a result of inflammatory processes or dystrophic changes in intestinal tissues, protein-free or low-protein diets, fasting lead to protein deficiency, manifested in various kinds of dystrophic disorders (alimentary dystrophy, kwashiorkor, cachexia).
In addition to the fact that an important condition for protein balance is the necessary supply of protein, hormones affect the synthesis of protein molecules. Incorrect synthesis results in altered (defective) protein molecules that cause mutations.
Violation of the processes of formation of amino acids (transamination) and their decay (deamination) also changes protein metabolism. Changes in the course of the processes of transamination and deamination are influenced by hereditary factors, taking certain medications, pregnancy, starvation, and liver dysfunction.
Such health disorders as dysbiosis, reduced immunity, muscle weakness, hypothyroidism, gout, polyarthritis, pellagra, cataract, obesity, hypocorticism, are tinged with a violation of protein metabolism.
Excessive intake of protein in the body (for example, with protein mono-diets, overeating) disrupts protein metabolism, increasing the concentration of protein structures in the body. In this case, the kidneys are affected - the main organ involved in the removal of excess protein from the body.
