Running in the morning or evening - which is better?
Unless you are a professional athlete who can devote an entire day to training, then the timing of training is always a problem. In the morning - no time, at lunchtime - still at work, in the evening - already tired. But if signing up for classes in a fitness club somehow streamlines life (after all, the money has been paid!), Then independent sports activities are entirely dependent on their own organization and dedication.
For a certain set of exercises, you need to allocate at least two to three hours of time. But if it is only a matter of running, which can take no more than an hour, then the time can be “carved out” both in the morning and in the evening. The question boils down to the effectiveness of morning and evening running. Morning or evening running - which is better?
Traditionally, a morning run is considered to be more effective than an evening run. It's all about the general fatigue of the body: in the morning, the energy charge is much higher than in the evenings, which affects the vigor of the classes and the time that passes until the moment of exhaustion. In other words, a person running in the morning gets less tired than running in the evening. But besides fatigue, there are many factors that speak in favor of both morning and evening running.
Evening running - advantages and disadvantages.
- For an evening run, a person has much more time at his disposal, unless, of course, other activities are planned for the evening, to the detriment of which he will have to run.
- Evening running time can be lengthened, running can be done in interval training mode.
- Evening running is useful to replace the unbearable feeling of hunger that pulls to the refrigerator.
- Evening running brings such a degree of fatigue, which is conducive to healthy sleep, if suddenly a person suffers from insomnia.
- Running along the evening streets calms the nervous system, as it does not make you nervous with thoughts about the upcoming workload, does not abound in oncoming traffic and people in a hurry.
- Running on a full stomach in the evenings is not recommended, as a rupture of the digestive tract organs, overflowing with food and, moreover, experiencing tension, shaking and vibration during running can occur. Evening running is appropriate after two hours have passed from the moment of eating (dinner), which gives the evening running advantages, since the calories eaten are utilized faster. But you have to adjust the time of dinner to the time of the evening run, which is not always convenient.
- The disadvantage of running in the evening may be excessive excitement of the nervous system, if it tends to be easily turned on, which will entail not a drowsy state, but, on the contrary, unwanted activity.
Morning running - advantages and disadvantages.
- The limited time frame makes your morning run a little stressful, as you have to check the clock all the time and stay within the established limits.
- If you intend to lose weight, morning running may be more effective, since in addition to the natural morning energy of the body, it adds an additional energy surge to the costs of spending fat reserves.
- Morning running goes well with other types of fitness activity performed in the afternoon.
- For a person with problems with the rapid awakening of the body, running in the morning is a godsend, as it tones up the body, giving it a charge of vigor in the following hours, increases the speed of natural reactions and sharpens the work of muscles and the brain.
- Morning jogging is run on an empty stomach, which means there will be no problems with digestion and morning toilet. Jogging in the morning goes well with a subsequent breakfast and allows you to eat more calories than your usual diet programmed.
- The disadvantage of running in the morning may be getting up early (minus half an hour - an hour of sleep), which, with general chronic lack of sleep, significantly affects health. In order not to be a disease-causing factor, running in the morning requires getting up early and going to bed early.
The choice of terrain for running is an important part of the effectiveness of your morning and evening run. Usually, there are stadiums with an adapted treadmill for such activities, but running in a circle does not bring the moral satisfaction that can be obtained by running in a forest or park area, along the banks of a river or sea, along a country road or along the asphalt paths of city courtyards. You can adapt any terrain for running, it is only important that it be safe - not a roadway and not a deep wild forest, since it is impossible to concentrate on running, all the while looking around.
A morning or evening run is an individual choice. But some especially energetic people prefer both types of running: morning and evening at the same time.
