Plyometrics - what is it?
In the eighties, the athlete-athlete Fred Wilt came up with a technique that made it possible to give muscle tissue a shock dose of effort in a short time during training. This allowed an athlete or just a lover of physical activity to prepare the muscles for more significant loads during the competition. The technique was named "plyometrics".
Plyometrics is a set of jumping exercises that replaces the already familiar technique of stretching the muscles before sports loads. It was found that during the jump, the muscles receive such a dose of effort that allows them to gain endurance.
The basis of plyometrics is deep jumping (from a hill - down); jumping (to a hill), squatting with a simultaneous jump, jumping rope, jumping over, jumping to a hill, jumping from a hill to a hill.
Plyometrics does not model the body in any way - it does not add or remove muscle mass, but it allows, in a short period of time, to prepare muscles for physical activity, and it does not matter what kind of load these loads are - sports or fitness exercises, sports equipment or dancing.
Plyometric exercises are able to initiate the burning of body fat on the muscle tissue itself, provided that you exercise regularly. Plyometrics is a way out of a situation when the space for training is limited, since it does not require moving long distances around the sports facility (almost a meter of space is enough for training).
Plyometrics are very popular among athletes - tracers involved in parkour. Plyometrics, as a variant of physical activity, can be used for rehabilitation in case of congestion in muscles and blood vessels, for the development of coordination of movements, to stimulate the growth of muscle tissue, for mini-training in people with a predominantly sedentary lifestyle.
