Emotional disorder - what is it?
The emotional sphere of a person is a very significant part of his life. It is emotions that distinguish humans from representatives of the animal world, and it is emotions that have a great influence on the quality of human life.
When they talk about emotional disorder, they mean psycho-emotional disorder, since the human psyche is directly related to disorders of this kind. Emotions are a direct product of higher nervous activity, but in essence they are a by-product of the work of the human nervous system, since even without emotions a person is quite capable of surviving. It is believed that emotions in some cases even interfere with reasoning soberly, making sound decisions, and adequately responding to various external stimuli. And yet, most people are subject to pronounced emotions: intense joy, deep sorrow, prolonged experiences, explosive rage and similar phenomena that are directly related to the emotional component of the brain.
People, depending on their emotional manifestations, can be little emotional, emotionally stable (control their emotions), overly emotional (not control their emotions). Low-emotional people often seem cold and sometimes indifferent, but this is not true, since their emotional manifestations are hidden from the eyes of others. Excessively emotional people usually do not restrain expressions of emotion of any nature. Emotionally stable people know how to keep their emotions in check. But absolutely all categories of people can be susceptible to emotional disorders, regardless of how they express their emotions.
Why can the emotional sphere of life, which humanizes the lives of representatives of the human race, be subject to disorders? Everything comes from excessive experiences that continuously accompany a person’s emotionality. Some people worry about an unfulfilled past, some worry about an unfulfilled present, and some worry about an unpredictable future. Anyone who worries about anything is a person who is potentially susceptible to emotional disorders.
Emotional disorders has many consequences for a person's health. Despite the fact that emotions are directly related to the functioning of the nervous system and the psyche, not only the nervous system suffers from diseases; almost all aspects of human physiology are also affected, which are manifested by heart disease, vascular disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders.
How to cope without emotional disorders? Life in all its manifestations is hardly predictable and controllable by a person, but a person is capable of managing his emotions. In order not to find yourself alone with such a health problem as “psycho-emotional disorder”, you need to be aware that a person suffers more emotionally not from what happens to him in real life, but from how he evaluates what is happening to him. In fact, a person's quality of life depends on his state of mind.
Psychotherapists advise their patients suffering from emotional disorders not to complicate their health with medication, but to engage in psychotherapy on their own. For example, in case of failures in life, tell yourself: “You have to be content with little,” in case of temporary failures, encourage yourself with the words: “Life does not end at this moment,” and in successful circumstances, tell yourself: “Don’t stop there, move on.”
