Social phobia - how to deal with it?
Social phobia is the fear of taking any action in public, or under supervision from the outside, attracting someone's attention. Fear of public speaking, an unpleasant state of affairs when doing something under the gaze of another person, the unbearable glances of passers-by or difficulty eating in the presence of strangers are the most striking examples of social phobia. Sociophobia can develop in childhood or adolescence, and is an echo of a person's complexities, his lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem.
Social phobia does not in any way affect strangers, but it can ruin the life of a person suffering from it. Such a person will never become a leader, will not take a public position, will not be able to work effectively under the control of another person, will not become the soul of the company, if he does not make an effort on himself and does not step over the state that disturbs his nervous system.
Sociophobia is usually accompanied by nervousness, panic attacks, tremors of the hands or tremors in the body, excessive sweating, fussiness, confused speech, can bring a person to a stupor and even lead to deep depression.
Sociophobia is not treated with medication, but is eliminated by conducting conversations with a person subject to its oppressive effect. Medicines are used only to relieve nervous tension, relaxation for a very short period, so that a person does not get used to being in society, only armed with sedatives.
To get a person out of the state of fear of the attention of strangers, you can carry out exercises with him, first in the circle of familiar people, then little acquaintances, and finally - strangers, in order to teach him not to be nervous, being "under the crossfire" of extraneous attention.
To overcome social phobia, one should direct the attention of such a person not towards thinking about what others think of him, but towards his own opinion of himself. Confidence in life is given by a high opinion of oneself, and the opinion of others in this case can be neglected in order to stop painfully worrying about him.
